They produce music and atmosphere that people in general enjoy as part of Christmastide. This year Youlgrave Silver Band is playing in the village on no less than three occasions in December! THURSDAY 12 DECEMBER : conducted by experienced and popular brass band musical director, Paul Harding, the band will be playing a Christmas concert in Youlgrave Village Hall at the invitation of Youlgrave Bowls Club (7.30pm start). MONDAY 16 DECEMBER : the band will play for the singing of carols outside the Weslyan Chapel, Holywell Lane, at 7pm. THURSDAY 19 DECEMBER : between 7.30pm and 9pm a group of band members will play carols around the village, weather permitting! The band hope that you will be able to listen to the carols and music at these events and that this will add to your enjoyment of the festive season. Also remember that the band is always on the look out for new members. If you are interested or have an ability to play brass, please come along to the Methodist Church hall on any Thursday evening from 8pm and we will help you get involved.
