Natiionall Sports Awards 2020 announced:: Here''s fullll lliist of awardees Awards National Sports Awards 2020 announced: Here's full list of awardees Context: The Indian Sports Ministry on August 21 announced the list of athletes who will be conferred with the National Sports Awards 2020. Hiighlliights: Rohit Sharma is among five recipients who will be awarded India’s highest sporting honour — the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for 2020. He will be the fourth cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli to be honoured with the award. The list was approved by the Sports Ministry, where Rohit, along with para-athlete Mariappan Thangavelu, table tennis champion Manika Batra, wrestler Vinesh Phogat and hockey player Rani Rampal were finalised to get the prestigious award. In a first, the awards will be held virtually on August 29, the National Sports Day, instead of the Rashtrapati Bhavan this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Natiionall Sports Awards 2020 sellectiion panell: Retiired Justiice of Supreme Court Justiice Mukundakam Sharma is the Chairperson of the Committee. The Members include eminent names from the field of Indian Sports including Virender Sehwag (Cricket), Sardar Singh (Hockey), Monalisa Baruah Mehta (Table Tennis), Deepa Malik (Para-athletics), Venkatesan Devarajan (Boxing) as well as well-known media persons including Sports Commentator Manish Batavia and Sports Journalists Alok Sinha and Neeru Bhatia. The recipient(s) is/are honored for their outstanding performance in the field of sports over a period of four years at international level. It was instituted in 1991–92. It is awarded annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The winner of the Khel Ratna Award gets a reward of 7.5 lac rupees. The first recipient of the award was Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand. About Dronacharya Award: Constituted in 1985 to honour eminent coaches who have successfully trained sportspersons or teams and enabled them to achieve outstanding results in international competitions. The awardee is given a statuette of Guru Dronacharya, a certificate, ceremonial dress and a cash award of five lakh. Not more than five awards are given every year. Elliigiibiilliity: The award is given to those who impart coaching temporarily or permanently to the teams or players. He should also have good achievement during the three years previous to the year of award. About Arjjuna Award: The award was instituted in 1961 to recognize outstanding achievement in National Sports. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll having certificate and a ceremonial dress. Over the years the scope of the award has been expanded and a large number of sportspersons who belonged to the pre-Arjuna Award era were also included in the list. Further the number of disciplines for which the award is given was increased to include indigenous games and the physically handicapped category. Any sports person tested positive for the use of drugs banned by the international Olympic committee in any laboratory accredited by international Olympic committee will not be eligible for Arjuna award. About Dhyan Chand Award for Liife Tiime Achiievements: Instituted in 2002, the award is given to honour those sportsperson who have contributed to sports by their performance and continue to contribute to promotion of sports even after their retirement from active sporting career. The awardee is given a statuette, a certificate, ceremonial dress and a cash award of 5 Lakh. Not more than three awards are given every year. This project aims at offering integrated services related with land. CH Vijayamohan is the Mission Director of Bhu Seva Mission. According to this project, each land parcel will be given a Bhudhar Number (an 11 digit unique number). A pilot project of this scheme was launched in Jaggaiah Peta Mandal and Vuyyur Nagar Panchayat of Krishna district. 3. Himachal Pradesh CM launched water supply scheme in Mandi Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the Kanda Pattan-Sarkaghat Water Supply Scheme at Cholthara in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. The Kanda Pattan-Sarkaghat water supply scheme has been developed at a cost of Rs 39.65 crore. This scheme will benefit more than 31,000 people of that area. 4. Parakram Diwas means Courage Day. Netaji was born on January 23, 1897. She was one among the first women fighter pilots inducted in Indian Air Force in 2016. The other fighter pilots inducted into the Indian Air Force were Avani Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh. Contents Bhawana Kanth In 2019, Bhawana Kanth became the first female fighter pilot of India to qualify to undertake combat missions. Jammu & Kashmir: GI tag for Gucchi Mushroom The Jammu and Kashmir Government recently sought GI tag for Gucchi mushroom. The Gucchi mushrooms are highly expensive and are full of health benefits. 500 grams of Gucchi mushrooms cost Rs 18,000. Recently, GI Tag was provided to Saffron of Jammu and Kashmir. They are referred to “May Mushrooms” in North America. The Gucchi mushrooms cannot be cultivated commercially.

This came a day after the Indian men's hockey team won the bronze medal in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics and hours after the women's team finished fourth. Key Points About: The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award will hereby be called the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The now renamed Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award comes with a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is the highest sporting award given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for the spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over a period of four years. The award comprises a medallion, a certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 7.5 lakh. The Khel Ratna award was instituted in 1991-1992 and the first recipient was Chess legend Viswanathan Anand. Among the other winners were Leander Paes, Sachin Tendulkar, Dhanraj Pillay, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, Anju Bobby George, Mary Kom and Rani Rampal in 2020. 1/2 Major Dhyan Chand: Known as The Wizard, Major Dhyan Chand, a field hockey player, played international hockey from 1926 to 1949, scoring over 400 goals in his career.
