The average temperature at Shasta Dam was 45.2 oF which was .8 oF below normal and Huntington Lake was 7.0 OF below normal with an average temperature of 27.6 oF. Trinity System: Storage in Trinity Lake increased 85,500 acre-feet this month to 1,423,900 acre-feet, which is 58 percent of capacity and 98 percent of the 15 year average for this date. The total inflow for the month was 106,486 acre-feet. The Trinity River release was 300 ft3/s. Whiskeytown Lake was operated between elevations 1198.92 feet and 1206.97 feet with an end-of-month storage of 207,200 acre-feet. The releases to Clear Creek from Whiskeytown Dam were 200 ft3/s. Total diversion from the Trinity River to the Sacramento River watershed for the month was 0 acre-feet. Shasta-Keswick: Storage in Shasta Lake increased 701,800 acre-feet for an end-of-month storage of 2,986,300 acre-feet, which is 66 percent of capacity and 115 percent of the 15 year average. The total inflow for the month was 843,846 acre-feet. The release to the Sacramento River at Keswick ranged between 3,600 and 3,800 ft3/s for the month. Folsom-Nimbus: Storage in Folsom Lake increased 75,700 acre-feet and had an end-of-month storage of 337,300 acre-feet, which is 35 percent of capacity and 92 percent of the 15 year average for this date. The total inflow for the month was 168,123 acre-feet. The release to the American River at Nimbus ranged between 1,000 and 1,500 ft3/s during the month. New Melones: Storage in New Melones increased 45,000 acre-feet for an end-of-month storage of 1,516,400 acre-feet or 63 percent of capacity and 126 percent of the 15 year average. The release to the Stanislaus River at Goodwin Dam ranged between 300 to 350 ft3/s for the month. The total inflow for the month was 60,915 acre-feet. Delta-San Luis: Federal storage in San Luis Reservoir on December 31, 2001, was 710,000 acre-feet compared to the storage a year ago of 989,000 acre-feet. Friant: Storage in Millerton Lake increased 37,765 acre-feet to 213,300 acre-feet. The total monthly inflow was 51,337 acre-feet. The release to the San Joaquin River at Friant varied between 89 and 134 ft3/s. CVP Totals: The total diversions to CVP canals were 237,156 acre-feet. The December 31, 2001, storage in the 18 CVP reservoirs was 6,973,000 acre-feet compared to storage 1 year ago of 8,017,000 acre-feet. Power: Gross power production for the CVP totaled 130,000,900 kilowatt-hours.
