The 2010 Mollydooker has earned high reviews from Robert Parker's Wine advocate, scoring 94 points. Blended of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon., the 2010 Enchanted Path was matured for 12 months in 85% new oak (97% American and 3% French. Its very deep purple- black color gives notes of ripe cassis and black cherry compote over hints of smoked bacon, dark chocolate, espresso, cedar and cloves. This specialty wine is no longer found in stores and is another wine in line of big, bruiser, powerful yet gloriously drinkable Zins from Robert Biale. This blackish purple wine shows currant, blackberry, dried fruit, molasses, berry jam and vanilla flavors on its luscious mid-palate. Supple, young tannins emerge on the rich and jammy finish. 7. 2001 Pahlmeyer Jayson Bordeaux Blend Buy it Now: $95 Scoring 92 points from The Wine Spectator, this exclusive wine is no longer available at retail. The 2001Pahlmeyer Jayson Bordeaux Blend is a rich, vibarnt, intensely concentrated and ripe style, with bold currant, plum, black cherry and spicy flavors accented by spicy, toasty oak and finishing with a firm wall of tannins which finish soft, deep and supple. This wine shows some heat on the finish, but there's still a wealth of flavor. The new French oak melds with the ripe fruity character; giving the wine an almost chocolaty flavor. This wine continued through malolactic fermentation in 100% new French Oak barrels for 7 months and was bottled neither fined nor filtered. 8. 2005 Justin Isoceles Bordeaux Blend Buy it Now: $100 The 2005 Justin Isoceles is dark purple with a slight crimson overtone around the rim. Aromas of boysenberry, leather, mocha, mint and cassis combine with light layers of caramel and vanilla resulting from the extended oak aging. A soft, fruit forward, elegant entry segues into a mid-palate with length and complexity. Seamless integrated tannins marry with ripe fruit, and flavors of coffee, butterscotch and hint of pencil lead on the finish of this wine. This Cabernet swaggers through swinging doors bringing with it aromas of tobacco, black cherry, leather chaps and dried alfalfa. This Mt. Veeder wine consists of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot. It is Bordeaux-like in its structure and character, with aromas of anise, currant, rose petal, cedar and blackberry, turning taught and firm on the palate. Full-bodied, with excellent balance, depth and dimension, ending with tight, ripe tannins. This wine will be at its best from 2010 through 2016. 11. 2002 Cristal Champagne Brut Buy it Now: $331 Cristal 2002 is brilliant yellow with light amber highlights and has a beautiful mousse with fine cordon of persistent and regular bubbles. The nose is intense and delicate, revealing a clean and well-blended mixture of flavors of honey, cocoa, lightly toasted hazelnuts, candied citrus fruit. A savory explosion of ripe fruit on the attack, the wine reveals red fruit, white chocolate, caramel and Danish pastry, typical of Cristal. Its silky, concentrated texture relies on its intense, powerful and vinous structure, but maintains refinement. The palate builds up to attain a delicious sensation of well- blended harmony of flavors. A fresh finish with a hint of bitterness makes it almost crunchy. 12. 2010 Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay Buy it Now: $125 The 2010 Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay is a fine wine that is not available in retail. Its distinctly intense and powerfully hedonistic aromas of lychee nut, citrus and rose petal come to mind with a pronounced back-ground of mineral, candied orange, yellow peach, nutmeg and a final touch of toasted almond. Weighty in the mouth and creamy, the palate is rich and seamless. High natural acidity and notes of brioche and pain grillé complete the mouth feel. The 2010 Belle Côte is enjoyable now and will continue to develop its unique expression of terroir for at least a decade.
