    PA12/04228, Pensipple Farm, St Keyne, Liskeard, Cornwall Local Member and Applicant Bernie Ellis Elgin Energy ESCO Ltd Brief Summary The site its located within the Looe and Seaton valley area of great landscape value the nearest main settlement of Trewidland is approx. 400 metres to the north west. The nearest residential properties are located at the site entrance at Old Pensipple and Pensipple to the southwest of the site approx 200 metres away we also have a couple of residential properties there. North Park Farm, currently under consideration it’s about 3.5 KM away so on that basis given the distance and the topography there are no visual cumulative and inter-visibility issues. The entrance for the construction works will be gained from the east of the site and would avoid the narrowest lanes in the area and the village of Trewidland as well. The second view point is taken from the properties to the southwest and there it is true to say that would have the largest visual impact of the development from those two properties. The majority of the solar farm would be visible from those houses. What I would say some mitigation for those visual impacts can be achieved by allowing the existing Cornish hedges to grow up. Councillor Pugh On the middle photograph there you can obviously see a lot of this solar farm. How high do these hedges have to grow to mitigate the view? Planning officer I don’t think realistically the hedges will obliterate the view. We can only soften the impact of the view and its proposed that the hedges will grow to its natural height which can vary around about to 2 metres in shrubs.

    ½ MILES DISTANCE 1 THE LOOE VALLEY LINE A relatively short walk along Cornish country lanes St Keyne deep in the East Looe Valley taking in the Holy Well of St Keyne. Exiting the station, go past the tall building straight ahead Wishing which was an old mill, and follow the road around to the Halt left, ignoring the junction to the right. The lane now starts Well to climb, with high banks to either side. At the top of the hill, you come to a junction and St Keyne Well. The Well is famous for its connection with newlyweds to Causeland and the story is displayed in the slate for you to read. From the well, go left down the hill to the St Keyne Well Hotel. This Old Mill ST KEYNE WISHING WELL HALT fine building was built in 1884 by a tea plantation owner who made his money in India before returning to Cornwall. The road descends back down into the valley passing a large abandoned quarry on the right-hand side. Carry on down the road passing the remains of an old lime kiln. The little halt at Causeland is soon reached. At the station, St Keyne Well behind the platform, you can see the remains of the old canal. It has been transcribed, checked and validated by the volunteers of the Cornwall Online Census Project, the Cornish arm of the Free Census project. The original records are held by The National Archives and this transcription is done with their permission. Image copies of the original returns can be viewed on film, fiche or CDROM from commercial suppliers and at many research facilities around the world. This study contains a full transcription of the 1891 census returns for Cornwall—a snapshot of the people and places of Cornwall on the night of April 5th, 1891. The file names are the PRO piece number code (without punctuation). About UK Census Returns About Free Census (FreeCEN) was started early in 2000 with a pilot project for the 1891 census returns for Devon. The aim of Free Census is to transcribe all the UK 19th century census returns. It is part of FreeUKGEN and is a sister project to FreeBMD and FreeREG. The intention is that all three of the UK primary sources for the family historian will be online and “free to view.” Six months after the Devon project started, the Cornwall 1891 commenced. Most English and Welsh counties are now covered for the 1891, with the Scottish projects concentrating on the 1841. There are several English 1861 projects, using commercially produced discs and two English 1841 projects, including Cornwall.

Published December 1994 Foreword The Seaton, Looe and Fowey is the first group of catchments for which the NRA’s Cornwall Area is preparing a Catchment Management Plan (CMP). The preparation of this plan is part of a national programme to prepare CMP’s for all catchments in England and Wales over the next 5 years. An important part of the Catchment Management Plan process is public consultation which is designed to allow those who live in, or use, the catchment to have an input into the development of NRA plans and work programmes. The Consultation Report includes relevant information about the catchment and lists the issues identified by the NRA which need to be addressed. Following the public consultation period the NRA will produce a Final Plan which will set out targets for action by the NRA and others over the coming years. We intend to set up Steering Groups comprising representatives of organisations and interests in the catchment to monitor progress. The Seaton, Looe and Fowey catchments are essentially high quality environments and the NRA’s vision is one of maintaining and reinforcing current high standards and ensuring that the character of the water related environments is maintained.
