I have been made aware that several members of the Council will possibly be voting against the process of moving forward for the Morrisville Senior Center. I must say this news finds me extremely disappointed in the Town Council. The Morrisville Town Council has put off for 16 YEARS recognizing the senior population. It is predicted that the County of Wake will grow by over 200% with the senior population. This isn’t something that Morrisville should wrinkle their noses at. I have watched this Council vote for things that have been wasteful spending. The expense of moving homes that serve NO value to the county and from what I am aware have brought in NO revenue or recognition to the area. Another such expenditure has been to build a library when we already have a library in our community. One shouldn’t blame the community members because the Town Council has been unable to prevent the growing of Cary. I have to travel through Cary several times when I go to some destinations. As an individual who wants to eat healthy, Morrisville offers NO opportunity for this to occur. You (that are thinking of voting against) apparently only look at the revenue and not the quality that things will bring. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL RECONSIDER HOW YOU VOTE THIS EVENING. Dear Town Council Members: I am Co‐Chair of the Senior Advisory Committee for the Town of Morrisville. It is my understanding that on Tuesday, April 28th a Proposed Senior Center Resolution & Contract is being presented to you for your approval. As a senior resident of Morrisville, a population that over the past 5 years have grown in leaps and bounds, I strongly urge you to approve this resolution and contract. The Morrisville seniors have outgrown all other available spaces that was given for our use and we have been patiently waiting a long time for an appropriate Senior Center. The Senior Advisory Committee have also been very active over the past years in searching and looking at available spaces, and the McCrimmon Corners Shopping Center space is the most viable. It is both conveniently located and safe and also offers plenty of needed parking spaces, banking, grocery shopping, hair salons and eateries. All of our surrounding towns (Cary, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Holly Springs) have a Senior Center and we DO NOT ‐‐ it is time! Once again, I ask you to please approve the Resolution and Contract on April 28, 2020. Thank you very much. ‐‐ Joyce Daye "I can do all things through Christ" 1 Eric W. Good afternoon Council Members, I do hope that you and your loved ones are well especially so in these difficult times. As a member of the Morrisville Senior Advisory Council, I am pleased to know that the Council is prepared to vote on a dedicated place for Morrisville seniors to meet. Our senior community will have a distinct place to meet, plan activities, perhaps receive various life skills education and instructions, as well as support and in our own designated place. Thank you for considering this important project for the senior citizens of our community. Sincerely, Joy Redd‐Skinner 1 Eric W. To the Members of Council and the Public I would like to present my comments and thoughts for the movement of the renovation of the Former Toss Restaurant Commercial Space at the Harris Teeter Plaza on Davis Dr. I believe the SAC committee along with the hard work of the Management and Morrisville Staff , did a great job on reviewing and narrowing the efforts to this final location. I believe the location is ideal and would be well utilized by the Seniors of Morrisville. The reasons I feel this way is the : It provides the ample space for the needs of the growing Sr population in the community. It provides ample and safe parking for use and utilization. It is surrounded by essentials to the users of the Center ( Grocery store, restaurants, gasoline center, banks and beverage centers) It is ideally located on Davis Drive It can be easily renovated since it is currently vacant and the downtime we currently are in is ideal for the work to be completed by essential workers. The facility can be designed for multi use in addition to the Sr Center, it can be utilized for meetings, education and community events The project keeps the proactive commitment by Morrisville Council to provide a facility in a reason amount of time to the Senior Citizens of the community. Thank you for reviewing and considering my comments on this imitative. Rick Bain Member of Morrisville SAC 1108 Falcon Ridge Lane Morrisville NC 27560 Sent from my iPhone 1.

Someone (usually Michael) says something cringeworthy and someone else (most often Jim) glances at the camera, slightly widens his eyes, and imperceptibly grimaces. That was weird, his face says, for all of us. That look was the central gag of The Office, NBC’s reimagining of a British television sitcom about life amidst corporate inanity. The joke never got old over nine seasons. Part of the show’s conceit is that a documentary camera crew is on hand capturing all this footage, allowing the characters to break the fourth wall with a running, reaction-shot commentary. A textbook example can be found in “Koi Pond,” from Season 6, when Jim (John Krasinski) finds the camera after Michael (Steve Carell) makes yet another inappropriate analogy during corporate sensitivity training. Don’t even try to count the number of times throughout The Office that eyebrows are alarmingly raised.

  • The Invisible Journalist: Understanding the Role of the Documentary Filmmaker As Portrayed in the Office
The Invisible Journalist: Understanding the Role of the Documentary Filmmaker as Portrayed in The Office Massiel Bobadilla JOUR575 –Joe Saltzman Image of the Journalist in Popular Culture May 5, 2011 Bobadilla 2 ABSTRACT: This study aims to shed light on the enigmatic ‘mockumentary’ filmmaker of The Office by using specific examples from the show’s first six seasons to understand how the filmmaker is impacted by and impacts concepts of journalism and the invasion of privacy. Similarly, the filmmaker in the American version of The Office will not only be compared and contrasted to the role of the filmmaker in the British version, but also will be compared to the anthropologic ethnographer an “outsider” attempting to capture life as faithfully as possible in a community to which he/she does not belong. The American interpretation of The Office branched out of Ricky Gervais’s British original of the same name with the pilot episode hitting the airwaves on NBC on March 24, 2005,1 to largely mixed reviews from critics, but a strong showing among viewers.2 The show’s basic premise is that of a faux documentary providing an inside look at the day-to-day life of the employees of a mid-level paper company. The primary focus centers on the socially inept branch manager, his even more inept right-hand-man, and the budding romance of the young and earnest paper salesman and the mild-mannered receptionist who happens to be inconveniently engaged to one of the branch’s warehouse workers. What was the Slough branch of Wernham Hogg in the U.K.
