Ramaiah College of Arts Science and Commerce, MSR Nagar, MSRIT Post, Bangalore- 560054, India ABSTRACT In the present study, physiochemical and bacteriological characteristics of five different lakes were determined in month of September 2013 from different locations in Bangalore, Karnataka. The concentration of TDS, iron, B.O.D., and MPN were slightly high in some samples. The results revealed that the most of the water samples were within the limits according to water quality standards.
