Programme TH 7 EFDN Conference 4th & 5th OCTOBER 2016, Ibrox Stadium, GLASGOW, UNITED KINGDOM Changing lives through Football www.efdn.org Dear EFDN Conference attendees, It is with great pleasure to welcome you all to the 7th EFDN Conference. Firstly, I would like to show our appreciation and thanks to Glasgow Rangers Football Club who will be our conference Hosts over the next two days and the support you have provided to our EFDN team leading up to conference has been warm and extremely helpful in coordinating this conference. As a network, one our biggest challenges for the conference is being able to stimulate and provide a platform to learn and share good practice for our Network Members and guests over the two days, after reviewing this years programme I am extremely delighted that EFDN will achieve this goal! Today we have the honour of welcoming the Minister for Public Health and Sport, Aileen Campbell MSP to commence proceedings and over the next couple of days we are extremely delighted to welcome representatives of UEFA, ECA, Supporters Direct and European Healthy Stadia Network as well our very own EFDN network members, we are excited in welcoming new clubs to conference such as Juventus, AC Milan and Legia Warsawa to just name a few. As chair of EFDN it has been humbling to see a number of new EFDN programmes launch such as, One Goal for Education, European Legends and the EPMIMT project. I have seen at hand the impact of our EFDN Exchange programmes being delivered across Europe 6th EFDN Conference bringing our young people together and staff which have involved 16 EFDN Network Member clubs over 7 Countries. Pat enjoyed a 20-year career in football playing for Clyde, Chelsea, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock and Motherwell as a winger. He also won 28 caps for Scotland, scattered across a ten-year international career. Since retiring as a player, Pat has worked as a chief executive of Motherwell and as a football writer and broadcaster. He is key founder of the community department of NAC Breda in 2005. Over this period of time Danny has been involved in multiple football based education and employability projects including No One Outside the Game, Lunch Room de BEA, NOAD in the Class, Playing for Success and working to develop the NAC Breda Intern Programme. EFDN Network Dating NAC Breda’s Playing for Success programme for hard to reach students that are 16-23 years old. They are students who are not performing to their potential due to not being motivated in their current environment or have a low self-esteem. For Today’s programme the session has been allocated 30 minutes with 45 minutes for Day 2 which will provide you with the opportunity to meet as many delegates as possible! Enjoy! The presentation will also provide a case study of to engage with wellbeing the Respect Your Health: No Tobacco project implemented at EURO 2016 for which activities. Healthy Stadia was a partner organisation. Project implementation, key results, legacy and learning for future tournaments will be discussed.
