WEEKLY OPPPORTUNITIES “How is your soul?” In reading a book today, (Replenish by Lance Witt) I ran across this question that was asked by Wesleyan bands (small groups) when they got together. “How is your soul?” SUNDAY This question is personal, intimate and deep, and yet it is a very important question for the Christian to answer. 9:30 am Sunday School It is my desire that Centennial Baptist Church be a healthy 10:45 am Worship Service church with spiritually healthy members. For that to happen 6:00 pm Youth Meets each one of us must take a good hard look in the mirror and an- swer the question “How is your soul?” WEDNESDAY God’s desire is to have a close and personal relationship with 5:30 pm Choir Practice each one of his followers. He wants to be close to you, do you want to be close to Him? Do you feel that you have lost that 6:30 pm “CentKids” closeness? I would recommend that you do a few things to move 7:00 pm Prayer Meeting closer to God THURSDAY James 4:8—Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty OASIS this month is divided between God and the world.. +++++++++++++++++++++++ How do we come close to God? 1st we need to confess our sins to God. Probably the number one reason for the feeling of a lack FOOD FOR THOUGHT of closeness to God is our own sin. 2nd we need to purify our God doesn’t want shares hearts by filling it with “God thoughts..” Philippians 4:8 gives us of your life. He wants a way to do that. controlling interest. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure , and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent Thou shalt not lie…..in bed on Sunday morning! and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8 MLT) Come to Church. ______Transformed

On March 12th we will begin a new 7-session Small Group study entitled “Transformed”. It is a DVD based study taught by Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in California. David Penn will be the group leader. The study will be held on Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm. There will be a signup sheet on the bulletin board and on the foyer information table.

This 7-week study will explore what the Bible has to say about every essential area of our lives: Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational, Financial, and Vocational. Each 25-30 minute lesson, combined with the materials from the Transformed Journal (provided), will inspire every member of the small group to evaluate themselves in each of these key areas of life. Transformed is a journey of eternal significance as each of us will learn how a life with God will change us in each of the 7 key areas. God’s Word is the only answer that promises to TRANSFORM our lives from the inside out.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2

Continued from page 1 We need to fill our minds with Godly thoughts, things that are true, things that are honorable and right, things that are pure and holy, things that are excellent and worthy of praise. As we fill our minds with these pleasing thoughts to God, then we will start thinking how God thinks. 3rd we need to place our loyalty where it belongs and that is with God and not the world.

The world is a dangerous place that Satan has much influence over. When we place our loy- alty with the world we are placing it against God. Decide in your heart today that you will follow Christ no matter what the world thinks. God defines what is right and wrong, not the world. When we do these three things, God will draw near to you! So, my question to you is “How is your soul?” the overall spiritual health of Centennial Bap- tist Church depends on you! Pastor Bryce ______

YOUTH

With the business meeting just around the corner, I would like to focus on some thank you’s with what I share here this month. I would like to start by thanking everyone who came out to the surprise birthday party for me the evening of February 12. It is a pleasure to serve in a church that cares enough to participate in hosting and attending a party. Additionally, thank you for the many cards brought to the party. I also find it exciting that earlier in that day we had our information meeting about the youth mis- sion trip and had 4 youth and an adult express interest. This is wonderful, as it is showing growth. My desire is to take at least 3 of the 4 youth and the extra adult into the mission field this summer alongside the many representing the other church of our association.

Speaking of the mission trip, another huge thank you to everyone who came out on February 25 to support the youth fundraiser. The taco night was successful raising enough funds to send a person and a half on the mission trip. I believe the time those who came got to spend in fellowship was welcomed on such a cold night. Your gen- erosity in giving and the many kind words of thanks and assurance that the youth had done a great job preparing food are a constant reminder of how much you care.

I could easily keep writing thank you over again for many things and not find a short- age of things to be appreciative of. So once again, thank you. Thank you for support- ing our youth and children’s ministries. I look forward to continuing to grow with this church.

Eric Fleming Youth Minister
