He died on Sunday, 28th November 1943, along with twenty-six other members of the crew when a torpedo from U 407 hit the Birmingham. Although badly holed, the ship managed to reach the port of Alexandria.

His grave is in Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, grave no 5 H 2.

He died on Wednesday, 11th August 1943, when Halifax Mark II JD 151 EY-M crashed short of the runway after completing a bombing raid on Nurnberg, Germany, it ran out of fuel.

He is buried in Southport Cemetery (Birkdale) section 6 grave 267.

Son of Henry J. and Elizabeth Carr of Southport.

He served as a Flying Officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in the 44th Rhodesia Squadron, who were equipped with Bombers and based at Waddington, Lincolnshire.

He died on Thursday, 11th March 1943, when Lancaster Mark I W481 KM-W crashed at Sassnitz while gardening (mine laying) in the Baltic.

His name is on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey panel 123. EDWARD ROY CLOUGH

He served as Flight Sergeant, Wireless Operator / Air Gunner in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve with 612 Squadron. This squadron flew out-dated Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk.V11s, bombers fitted with A.S.V.Radar. Their duties were to cover the Fleet and the Atlantic convoys.

He died on Sunday 15th March 1942.

Served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve as a Sergeant Pilot with 253 Squadron ( Hawker Hurricane Mark 1 Fighters)

On 30th August, 253 Squadron recorded two enemy aircraft destroyed, five probables, one damaged. Sergeant Dickinson was one of three pilots lost on this day.
