Representative Basketball Trials for U15, U17, U19 Boys & Girls We are pleased to invite you to the 2016 Canterbury Basketball representative trials. 40 players will be selected for each age group to represent Canterbury at the Easter Selection Tournament (Christchurch). From the Easter selection tournament, 1-2 Canterbury teams will be selected to enter the Anzac Weekend National Qualifying Tournament (Christchurch) and 1-2 teams selected for the July Mainland Development Tournament . The teams that qualify for nationals will then play at the Basketball New Zealand Nationals in July.

Age: Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 Boys & Girls Trials: U15 Girls Sunday, 13th March 8:30am – 10:00am Cowles Stadium U17 Girls Sunday, 13th March 10am – 1130am Cowles Stadium U19 Girls Sunday, 13th March 1130am – 1pm Cowles Stadium U15 Boys Sunday, 13th March 1pm – 230pm Cowles Stadium U17 Boys Sunday, 13th March 230pm – 4pm Cowles Stadium U19 Boys Sunday, 13th March 4pm – 530pm Cowles Stadium

*You must be U15, U17 or U19 for the entire 2016 year in order to register for that age group

Led by Rams Head Coach Mark Dickel, Wildcats Head Coach Lori McDaniel and supported by Representative level coaches and special guests from the and Canterbury Wildcats

Mark Dickel is the head coach of the Canterbury Rams. He represented New Zealand in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2004 Athens Olympic. He led the 2002 FIBA World Championship team to its highest ever finish of 4th place. Lori McDaniel is the head coach of the Canterbury Wildcats. She played NCAA Division 1 for Butler University and has been a New Zealand development coach.

The 40 players selected in each age group will play in the Easter Selection Tournament. If you are unavailable for the Easter Tournament please contact Caleb Harrison. To participate in the Easter Tournament there will be a cost of $130. This will be need to be paid by 21st March prior to the tournament. Players will also be required to wear mouth guards per Basketball New Zealand rules during the Easter Selection Tournament.
