Ministry of Public Health

The Ministry of Public Health, through the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance and the Hotline, continues to track infections with the Coronavirus and their contacts, and to organize testing campaigns directed at various regions and to prepare the daily report of infections and their spread and distribution.

- Government equipment for the Corona department, including respirators and a PCR EXPERT. - The Ministry of Public Health announced the beginning of the second phase of confronting Corona by increasing the number of beds in Tripoli Governmental Hospital, Abdullah Al-Rasi Governmental Hospital in Akkar and Assoun Governmental Hospital in Danniyeh, with the increase in the number of PCR examinations.

The ministry issued the results of additional examinations for the upcoming trips on September 6, 2020, where one new positive case was recorded, and it is as follows:

General announcements

The National Committee for Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Procedures to Confront the Coronavirus Coordinates with the Concerned Security and Judicial Authorities and the Ministry of Public Health The distribution of hundreds of people trying to leave Lebanon illegally by sea to approved isolation centers and hotels pending PCR checks and ensuring that they are not infected before leaving their homes. And securing all the requirements for their stay in isolation centers, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, the World Health Organization and UNICEF.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Food Program and the Lebanese Red Cross, issued the first part of the "Health Guide for Educational Institutions on Preventive Measures to Prevent the Transmission and Spread of SARS-CoV-2) Causing Covid-19 infection The Ministry of Interior and Municipalities issued Decision No. 1056 on 9/8/2020 related to amending the opening and closing times of industrial and commercial establishments, as the timing of exit and entry into the streets was changed from the first hour after midnight until six in the morning, and the decision allowed bars to open And cabarets, nightclubs, electronic game stores, public parks, theaters and cinemas, with strict enforcement of the approved preventive measures and measures, provided that the swimming pools, indoor sports stadiums, amusement parks and the indoor spaces designated for children's games remain closed. On 9/9/2020, the National Committee for Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Measures to Confront the New Coronavirus issued the following recommendations based on an assessment of the reality of the epidemic:

• Adopting blended education for all levels, provided that the classroom capacity is 50% as a maximum of its absorptive capacity in a manner that respects the required spacing, as the school year begins on September 28, 2020 gradually according to the educational stages. • Circular on public and private means of transport through the ministries of public works and transport, the interior and municipalities, the obligation of 50% of their absorptive capacity. • Work to develop standards and a plan to respond to any epidemiological emergency that may appear within educational institutions, through a working group that includes the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Public Health and a representative of the Committee for Follow-up of Measures and Preventive Measures of Coronavirus. • Providing vaccinations against influenza for public and private school students from the age of 3 to 15 years and developing a plan to implement the vaccination campaign in coordination with the Lebanese Red Cross.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued Decision No. 132 dated 7/9/2020 regarding the organization of teaching in public and private schools and high schools for the 2020-2021 academic year, as the decision specifies the schedule of starting dates for the academic year for all educational stages, how to divide students into two groups during the first semester From the school year until the health conditions return to normal, in addition to the procedures and measures that must be taken at the school level in order to secure the teaching requirements and maintain the required divergence to prevent the spread of the epidemic in educational institutions.

Examples of lack of adherence to safety measures

• Demand gatherings and demonstrations. • Failure to comply with the preventive measures and procedures required in a number of stores and markets (putting on a muzzle or face mask, sterilizing hands, maintaining a safe distance). • Non-compliance with the 50% occupancy rate in several restaurants and amusement game centers. • Gatherings for social events. • Failure of those in contact with confirmed cases to adhere to home isolation procedures until the results of the laboratory tests are issued.
