NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court vide Notification no. 28 dated 19th April, 2021, Notification no. 29 dated zo" April, 2021, Notification no. 30 dated 21st April, 2021 and Notification no. 34 dated 1st May 2021 has issued guidelines and norms to be followed for functioning of the Hon'ble High Court in the Principal Seat as well as its Outlying Benches at , Aizawl and and the subordinate courts of , , and ;

And whereas this Registry has notified various instructions pertaining to the restricted functioning of the Hon'ble Courts at Aizawl Bench from time to time;

Now as the surge in the number of COVID - 19 cases in the State of Mizoram has not seen a decline and to ensure the safety and well being of all stake holders at the Aizawl Bench of the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court in this second wave of COVID-19 pandemic;

The Seniormost Judge of the Gauhati High Court, Aizawl Bench has adopted the following measures which shall be strictly implemented in respect of the working of the Aizawl Bench of the Gauhati High Court and these measures will remain in operation from 10.05.2021 onwards and until further orders.

From 10.05.2021 onwards there will be one (1) Single Bench functioning in the Aizawl Bench of the Gauhati High Court which shall take up all urgent matters that have been mentioned by the learned advocate in the prescribed 'Mention Form for Urgent Listing of Cases' as notified by this Registry in Notification no.J.11015/2/2018-HC(AB)/152-153 dated: 6th May, 2021 . The Single Judge Bench will conduct court as follows:

The court will function through virtual mode.

The urgent cases would mean all cases involving question of life and liberty of citizens, Bail Applications, Habeas corpus petitions, Death Reference cases, cases relating to demolition of building; cases relating to eviction; termination of service, etc. This list is not exhaustive. In case there is any other urgent matter and the same needs to be taken up on an urgent basis, the learned advocate has to make a mention before the Court concerned in accordance with the modalities notified earlier; and then it is the discretion of the Court to take up the matter, or to list the case for a future date.

All filing during this period will be entertained between 10:30 am - 12:00 pm only. By Order,
