2017-2018 HFSM 5th Grade Graduating Class Favorite Verse & Memories

Gabriel Sagini Trust wholeheartedly in Yahweh, put no faith in your own perception; acknowledge him in every course you take, and he will see that your paths are smooth. Proverbs 3:5-6 You cannot rely on yourself to get to , and that through God only you can find the narrow way. We have to fully trust and love and be willing to lay down our lives for Him. Our job on Earth is to show God’s love and spread the good news to the entire world so that everyone can have a chance to experience God’s love and make the choice of their lifetime. We need to not just know who God is, but also have a strong relationship with Him. With God, we can do anything! The verses Proverbs 3:5-6 give me the simple directions on how to live. These two verses were also chosen as one of most admired role model’s, Desmond Doss’, favorite verses. He dedicated his life to God and resisted temptation by basing his life on the verses. They gave him and give me hope and strength through the hardest days. The words, “…lean not on your own understanding…” tell me that humans are powerless without the Almighty. “ …In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths… “tell me to give full credit to God for my talents, and that I will be rewarded with the five crowns of everlasting life. I am Gabriel Sagini, and I am a Disciple of Christ! Do Me a Favor, and Remember Me Thoughts The school had a kind staff, and the teachers used enjoyable but challenging games to interact fun with the learning process. Friends were easy to make, (well, after I stopped scaring the girls in first grade) and there were very few bullies attending the school. There is no judgment at Holy Family-St. Mary’s School. Everyone is equal, no matter what race, religion, or financial state. The food was so delicious, and the cooks were compassionate, caring, fair, and loving. Wishes for Remembrance The first quality I would like to be remembered for is my knowledge of the Bible. I find great joy and satisfaction in seeking out answers to the mysteries located in the Scriptures. Secondly, I desire to be remembered for my great handwriting and cursive, creative writing, math skills, and love of social studies as well as my excellent job of comprehending science. Finally, when people think of me, I want them to recall my fondness of school, and that regardless of whether I was doing well in my studies or not, that I would try to fully understand what I was learning, and therefore strive to grasp more wisdom and knowledge.

From the Business Office

Thank you for the increase in giving during the month of July. It is truly appreciated. In next week’s bulletin you will see a change in the monthly budgeted amount. The 2018-19 budget will have adjustments made if necessary. These adjustments will be made in accordance with the income brought in. Due to our budget issues, the paid position for visiting the homebound has been eliminated. This ministry will continue through our Parochial Vicar, Fr. Kuhn, and will become a function of future Parochial Vicars. This eliminates about $24,000 from our yearly budget. We will continue to review and adjust the budget as needed in the coming months and will keep you posted on these changes.

Budget Cuts Made For the 2018 -2019 Fiscal Year: * HFSM School subsidy: $453,926.00 to $376,000.00. The school is also going to be required to raise more funds while staying competitive with other schools in the tuition charged. * Faith Formation/Youth went from a budget of $79,558.00 to $64,558.00 * Contract cleaning went from $28,800 to $0. Altar Society pays for the bathrooms to be professionally cleaned. The other cleaning duties have been absorbed by parishioners and staff. * The rectory has disconnected their Dish Network for a savings of $900 a year. * Cut the Human Needs budget from 3% of Sunday Collections to 1%, estimated savings $15,000 * RCIA, Art and Environment, and Choir are all at very limited budgets. * Continuing education limited to Webinars or free conferences unless paid by the person or donated to the person by a group. * Once our Parishioner list has been updated we will see a savings in the amount we pay for Sunday envelopes, New Earth Magazines, and the other expenses associated with the number of people we have on record as active members. Once this has occurred the savings will be put in the bulletin. * Some people have asked about cutting back to the 3 page bulletin Holy Family previously used. The bulletin is not an expense to Holy Family. The advertisers on the back pages are the ones who pay for the bulletin. Please be aware of this and frequent the businesses who support Holy Family.
