Antirromanticismo e impresionismo en la poesía de Guido Gozzano José Muñoz Rivas ([email protected]) UNIVERSIDAD DE EXTREMADURA Resumen Palabras clave Recorrido por las principales líneas de Guido Gozzano la poética de Guido Gozzano, desde la Decadentismo crisis esteticista anterior a La via del Antirromanticismo rifugio (1907), hasta la elaboración y Impresionismo publicación de I Colloqui (1911), y el Naturalismo sucesivo final de la actividad literaria Clasicismo de Gozzano. Se pone de manifiesto la Crepuscularismo tendencia de su poética hacia una poesía anticlasicista y antirromántica, aunque siempre a la sombra de la literatura clasicista y romántica italiana y europea contemporáneas. Abstract Key words A journey through the main lines Guido Gozzano derived from the poetics of Guido Decadentism Gozzano, from the aesthetic crisis prior Anti-romanticism to the publication of La via del rifugio Impressionism (1907), to the composition and Naturalism publication of I Colloqui (1911), and the Classicism subsequent end of Gozzano's literary Crepuscolarism activity. Bell, III ___________________________ Roberto Dainotto ___________________________ Valeria Finucci An abstract of a dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Department of Romance Studies in the Graduate School of Duke University 2018 Copyright by Laura Banella 2018 Abstract Rewriting Dante explores Dante’s reception and the construction of his figure as an author in early lyric anthologies and modern editions. While Dante’s reception and his transformation into a cultural authority have traditionally been investigated from the point of view of the Commedia, I argue that these lyric anthologies provide a new perspective for understanding how the physical act of rewriting Dante’s poems in various combinations and with other texts has shaped what I call after Foucault the Dante function” and consecrated Dante as an author from the Middle Ages to Modernity. The study of these lyric anthologies widens our understanding of the process of Dante’s canonization as an author and, thus, as an authority (auctor & auctoritas), advancing our awareness of authors both as entities that generate power and that are generated by power. -

Chapel Hill 2014 Approved by: Federico Luisetti Dino Cervigni Amy Chambless Valeria Finucci Mauro Novelli © 2014 Danila Cannamela ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ii ABSTRACT Danila Cannamela: Knowledge Through Things: A New Perspective on Crepuscular and Futurist Avant-Garde (Under the direction of Prof. Federico Luisetti) This dissertation provides a first systematic English-language study on Crepuscularism. Challenging the common critical understanding that reduces Crepuscularism to a pre-modern poetic regression while identifying Futurism with Marinetti’s hymn to technological progress, I argue that these two Avant-Gardes share similar reactions to the modern bourgeois paradigm, both at a cognitive and ontological level. Overcoming the ghettoization of Crepuscularism as a provincial Italian phenomenon, the first chapter maps the historical and cultural setting of this movement, illustrating its intersection with philosophy, visual arts, and mysticism. In the subsequent chapter, I borrow from Bruno Latour’s thesis that modernity encounters its limits in dealing with cross-category relationships such as nature-culture and human-thing. Crepuscularism expresses its Avant-Garde role by ushering in an anti-modern discourse on hybridization that Futurism inherits and further develops. The third chapter explores how the two currents envision cognition as immediate intuition and participative immersion that entails also ignorance, understood as maximum freedom of knowing. -

Teodolinda Barolini Is Lorenzo Da Ponte Professor of Italian at Columbia University
Teodolinda Barolini is Lorenzo Da Ponte Professor of Italian at Columbia University. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the Medieval Academy of America. She served as fifteenth President of the Dante Society of America (1997-2003). A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College (B.A. 1972) and Columbia University (M.A. 1973, Ph.D. 1978), Barolini taught at the University of California at Berkeley and New York University before returning to Columbia University in 1992 as Chair of the Department of Italian, serving in that capacity until 2004. The first volume of her edition and commentary to Dante’s lyrics, Rime giovanili e della “Vita Nuova” (notes by M. Gragnolati), was published by Rizzoli in 2009. She is also the author of Dante’s Poets : Textuality and Truth in the “Comedy” (Princeton, 1984; Italian trans. GUIDO GOZZANO E IL PAESE CHE NON DICO SABATO 16 APRILE 2016 ATTI FINALI DEL CONVEGNO Guido Gozzano e il dolce paese che non dico Intervento di Lilita Conrieri La casa di un poeta: il Meleto di Guido Gozzano “Più bel piacer davver non c’è che andare ad Agliè…” Così, si dice, recitasse un Gozzano bambino, precocemente innamorato del Canavese. Ed è nel Canavese e, precisamente ad Agliè, la via del rifugio che, prato dopo prato, curva dopo curva, conduce a Villa il Meleto , il buon ritiro del giovane poeta. Una villa che, di volta in volta, di sentimento in sentimento, diviene Villa tipo del libro di lettura o cascina volgare e senza sogni ma, intanto, resta , forse, l’unico porto sicuro che “biancheggia fra le glicini leggiadre”. Costruita nella seconda metà del 1800, villa Il Meleto , fu donata dal deputato Mautino, alla figlia Deodata in occasione delle nozze con l’ingegnere Fausto Gozzano. I genitori di Guido sono entrambi canavesani con casa ad Agliè. La mamma Deodata, donna colta e dall’indole artistica, recita in una compagnia teatrale amatoriale del luogo, la “Società degli amici del teatro” e, presto, verrà indicata come la piccola Duse del Canavese. Anche l’ingegnere Fausto Gozzano calca le scene ed è recitando la partita a scacchi di Giacosa che i due si conoscono e poco più tardi, il 10 gennaio 1877, si sposeranno. Guido, come i suoi fratelli, nascerà a Torino e a Torino morirà ma la frequentazione canavesana e il Meleto, soprattutto, resteranno un capitolo importante nella sua vita artistica e non solo. -
