Golf Muirfield Golf Club (Est. 1744) : 71 Mens / 70 Ladies

On March 7th 1744 the Edinburgh Town Council presented a silver club for annual competition by 'The Gentleman Golfers', In doing so they required that 'proper regulations' governing conditions of play, be written and the thirteen Rules of Play were duly produced. Thus was the Company of Edinburgh Golfers created and 1891 golf was first played at the designed Muirfield. Today Muirfield is a renowned host to major championships amateur and professional, international and national, men and ladies - all of which have produced worthy champions. Eleven Amateur Championships and 16 Open Championships have been played over the course considered to be the best links layout anywhere.

Golf has been played over the historic West Links course since the 17th century, and we continue to play over the same piece of land as they did back then. With breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth and islands of Bass Rock, Craigleith, Lamb and Fidra, as well as the town of North Berwick itself, there are few places better in the world to play golf! A true championship links course, having hosted Final Qualifying for and both Gentlemen and Ladies Amateur Championships. An excellent test of golf awaits you.

Golf has been played over the links at for more than 350 years. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs, mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world. It is carved into the ancient links turf with pot bunkers, wispy grasses and smooth-running greens is a unique challenge for the serious golfer. On the PGA Website, the course was voted one of the Most Picturesque Golf Spots in 5th place in the World in a list that includes Augusta National and Pebble Beach.

This is acclaimed architect Tom Doak’s first Scottish design opportunity, was hired to create a world- class course with regard to his renowned ability to move very little earth; showcasing the natural features of an incredible property such as Renaissance. The Renaissance Club was founded on respect for the traditions of the game. The Renaissance Club property is owned by the Duke of Hamilton family, which gives the club an enviable position in the rich history of the area.

Luffness Golf Club (Est. 1894) Par: 70 Men & Ladies

Designed by Old Tom Morris, Luffness New Golf Club offers challenging and enjoyable golf in a historic setting. One can be astonished in middle age to walk off the 18th green feeling so invigorated and refreshed. The nature of the turf probably has something to do with this, being of the springy type which gives gently to the feet, like a rich Persian carpet, and the course is sensibly flat apart from minor undulations associated with seaside courses.

Craigielaw Golf Club (Est. 2001) Par: 72 Men & Ladies

Boasting a challenging 18 hole championship , designed by Donald Steel, Since opening in 2001, in this short period has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and was a qualifying course for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield. With challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.
