Summer Ballet

We are excited to announce our Summer Ballet Intensives, and Nutcracker Auditions July 2019! Limited spaces are available. Enrollment opens April 8!

Our Summer Ballet Intensives are a wonderful opportunity for any aspiring ballet student, from any studio, excited to learn pieces from the Nutcracker Ballet as well as grow in skill and artistry.

Our 1-Week Summer Intensives are a great way to experience ballet without a full year commitment. Students will be required to adhere to our Dress Code found in the Studio 149 Handbook.

Intensives encourage all skill levels, while providing them an opportunity to audition at the end of the week for our 2019 Nutcracker, if they choose to enroll as a student for the 2019-2020 Dance Season. Ballet Intensives welcome students at every skill level and classes are offered for ages 3-18. Locations offer different times, prices, and opportunities. Students must register by creating a Studio Director Account at studio149dance.com. All registration fees are waived for our Summer Ballet Intensives.

We currently are offering Summer Intensives at our SMLC Location July 8- 12, and the Promise Location July 15-19 and/or July 22-26. Check back in May for our third Intensive July 22-26 at a new remote location. Students may choose to sign up for more than one Intensive at any location.

Pre-Ballet

Pre-Ballet Students will enjoy the Nutcracker Story while learning the beginning stretches, skills, and French Ballet Terms, in a creative and encouraging environment. Parents will enjoy watching their little ballet dancer at the end of the week perform a small piece from the Nutcracker Story. We love the excitement of the Nutcracker Story!

Barre

Every student in our elementary, intermediate, and advanced placements, begin at the Barre. This assists in forming the proper Studio 149 Students who wish to further their training in Ballet alignment, strength, and flexibility needed for center practice. Every advance to Pointe at the age of 12 or by Artistic Director’s approval. dancer and every genre of dance benefits from the strong foundation found at the ballet barre.

Center Center Practice assists in Adagio and Allegro skills as well as choreography. Our Ballet Classes are designed to properly move each student through Barre, Center, and Across the Floor. At the end of each class, students will learn a small Nutcracker Piece that students may also utilize as their audition if they desire to participate and enroll for our 2019-2020 Dance Season. Parents will enjoy watching these pieces in a small Summer Intensive Showcase at the end of the week. Studio 149 thrives on offering training to maintain the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of every dancer.
