a holding pattern when the Charlotte airport was shut down by weather. • Running low on fuel, the Rams had to land in Raleigh to refuel and then were delayed getting back in the air. • Once in the air, it was a quick 30-minute flight to Char- lotte but upon landing there was no gate open so the Rams sat on the tarmac waiting for an open gate for almost an hour. • The Rams left campus at 12:00 p.m. and arrived at their Charlotte hotel at about 11:00 p.m. • Upon boarding their return flight to New York on Sunday, the Rams were given a message from the captain about a delayed departure due to traffic at LaGuardia but they were still able to land on time.

Fordham Appeared in the First Televised THE College Football Game 77 Years Ago On September 30, 1939, Fordham hosted NUMBERS Waynesburg College at Triboro Stadium on Randall’s Island. The game was the season opener for the Rams, who beat Waynesburg, 3 34-7. Announcer Bill Stern called the Patriot League Titles contest over station W2XBS (now WNBC) (2002, 2007, 2014) as a demonstration of this new medium at the World’s Fair.
