I started my principalship as you started your first year of high school. I have watched you all grow from scared, immature young teenagers to mature young adults (some of you). I want you to remember the main goal for you in high school is to graduate. Of course, on the way, we know/hope you have learned a lot, been challenged, become a critical thinker, made friends, got involved, competed and grew. Graduating from DCHS sets you up to have options after high school and to make a decision of which way you want your life to go. I do not care if you go to college, learn a trade, go to the military, or simply go to work. What I care about is that you have the opportunity to change your life and change or improve your situation. Think about all the classes that you have taken and all the teachers that set out to impact your life. Every day you have spent here at DCHS has impacted our lives, just like we impacted yours. I hope you feel you have left your mark on DCHS in a positive * Processional: Pomp and Circumstance way. As you think about that, it is not how you start something, but the most important portion is that you FINISH STRONG! Remember, like high school, life is a journey, so * Pledge ................................................................
