The report was prepared for section 46 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, in accordance with the requirements of that Act and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983. It was approved by the Board on 11 September 2019 and provides a comprehensive review of the ABC’s performance and delivery in line with its Charter remit. The ABC continues to be the home and source of Australian stories, told across the nation and to the world. The Corporation’s commitment to innovation in both storytelling and broadcast delivery is stronger than ever, as the needs of its audiences rapidly evolve in line with technological change. Australians expect an independent, accessible public broadcasting service which produces quality drama, comedy and specialist content, entertaining and educational children’s programming, stories of local lives and issues, and news and current affairs coverage that holds power to account and contributes to a healthy democratic process. The radio stations Sydney’s 2GB, Melbourne’s 3AW, Brisbane’s Nova 106.9, Adelaide’s Mix 102.3, Perth’s Nova 93.7, Hit FM and Triple M ranks number 1 at ratings survey 8 in December 2020. Recently in December 2020, Nova Entertainment had launched it’s new DAB+ stations in each market, such as Nova Throwbacks, Nova 90s, Nova Noughties, Nova 10s, Smooth 80s and Smooth 90s to bring you the freshest hits, throwbacks and old classics all day everyday at Nova and Smooth FM. -

GENERAL INFORMATION REGISTRATION Hours: Thursday, 10:30 am-5:00 pm Friday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Saturday, 7:30 am-5:00 pm Sunday, 8:00 am-10:00 am. The Registration Desk is located in the Liberty Foyer on the Ballroom level 1. When you register, you will be given a registration badge. 2. Badges are to be worn at all sessions and are required for admission to ESS events. 3. Registered participants may request complimentary badges for their nonmember spouses. ESS COMMONS The ESS COMMONS is on the mezzanine level in Liberty A. It includes: The Book Exhibit, which is described on the back inside cover of the program. Because too few job openings were submitted prior to program publication, the Employment Center will be suspended for this year. Please do check the Employment Services section on our website (http://essnet.org) for current postings. COPIES OF PAPERS The ESS does not sell or distribute papers or abstracts. Please contact authors directly to obtain copies of papers or to get further information. SESSION AND PAPER LENGTH Sessions are scheduled with the expectation that presenters and discussants will take approximately 15 minutes to make their initial presentations.
