May in the Far East Asian Culture Club 5/13/2021 China
May in the Far East Asian Culture Club 5/13/2021 China May 1 Labor Day 劳动节 Láodòng jié Labor Day China has several public holidays of national character. These holidays include 1 May - Labor Day. Until 2008, this holiday was celebrated for seven days, however later the Chinese government decided to reduce the number of off-days to three in favor of other traditional Chinese holidays. The history of International Workers' Day in China started in 1919, when the intelligentsia initiated insurgencies in Shanghai. Later, in 1920, Beijing and Shanghai held the first-ever demonstration in honor of all workers. Officially, this holiday was established and approved by the Chinese government in 1949. During the “cultural revolution” May Day in China was considered, almost the most important holiday in the country. Amplitudinous rallies and demonstrations across China were organized to celebrate this Day. The holiday was more of a political character. However, at the end of XX century, the situation changed dramatically. Today Labor Day in China is a sort of a cheerful family holiday. During these three days of holidays, the Chinese go to the country, meet friends, and attend solemn events. Many people visit theaters and exhibitions. The streets of the Chinese cities hold demonstrations and performances. May Day holidays is the best time to visit China, because at this period of year, the government gives permission for discounts. Not only can you visit the main attractions of the country at discounted prices, but also to go shopping. May 4 Youth Day In the People's Republic of China, Youth Day celebrated on May 4. -

Real Estate Poised to Benefit from Chinese Golden Week Travel October 5, 2017
Real estate poised to benefit from Chinese Golden Week travel October 5, 2017 Chinese travelers are hunting for real estate during Golden Week. Image credit: Ferragamo By SARAH JONES As legions of Chinese consumers venture overseas during Golden Week, searching for real estate is one of their top priorities. The Chinese National Tourism administration expects that the holiday this year will see about half of the nation’s population, or 710 million individuals, on the move. According to a report from Juwai, 57 percent of Chinese tourists heading abroad on trips this year anticipate buying property in their destination, making this en masse migration a prime time for real estate investment. "With more than 760 million workers in China getting a week off work during Golden Week, it provides the best window of opportunity for hungry Chinese investors to travel internationally and visit and invest in properties they're interested in but haven't had the chance to see first-hand," said Josh Cunningham, vice president of Investorist, Miami. "Real estate sales to Chinese have historically and consistently increased during this Golden Week period, so we expect no less this time around. "We know from a recent study we conducted last quarter in China with 120 agents advising Chinese clients on where to invest, that the top markets the Chinese are eyeing are Australia, U.S. and the U.K.," he said. "Education was determined to be the number one driver, so metros with elite university opportunities will heavily dictate where the Chinese park their money. "Golden Week was also surveyed as the best time to buy property, and for developers and brokers, the most lucrative time to sell." Tourism and real estate Golden Week is an biannual national holiday in China, in which employees are given seven consecutive days off from work. -

Conic News 2019.5
NEWS Dear all, It’s been getting steadily warmer and today the temperature is 20 degrees! From May 1st, in Japan, it became a new era called “REIWA”. Japanese ministry has described the meaning of “REIWA” as “Beautiful Harmony”. It is a cool, isn’t it? We give eras names based on the reign of the emperors. This is only country in the world that used the era name system. Did you know that? Now that we have a new era, CONIC will endeavor to enhance not only our product quality but also our service quality in order to meet your expectations!! Today, I will tell you about long time vacation in Japan called “GOLDEN WEEK”. “GOLDEN WEEK” Golden Week is a Japanese term applied to the period from April 29 to May 5. The week contains four public holidays: “Showa Day” (April 29th), “Constitution Memorial Day” (May 3rd), “Greenery Day” (May 4th) and “Children's Day” (May 5th). Because these holidays are so close together, most people are able to take about a week-long vacation. However, this year has 10 consecutive holidays as the Emperor changed. As Japanese businessmen are not used to long holidays, it seems that some people are working at home after all. By the way, “Showa Day” is the birthday of Emperor Showa, the former of Japan. “Constitution Memorial Day” is a holiday that celebrates the enforcement of the Constitution of Japan in 1947. “Greenery Day” is a day to show appreciation for nature. “Children's Day” ("kodomo-no-hi" or "tango-no sekku" in Japanese) is a day celebrates and wishes for children’s health and their healthy growth. -
