Queen’s Baton Relay
The Queen’s Baton Relay will pass through Aberdeenshire on Sunday 29 th June . The relay will start
in Stonehaven and progress through the North East. The baton will travel through the following places in this order:

Kemnay Community Council
This new feature to the Academy Journal will provide pupils with the latest things happening at each withcommunity councilMr meeting. Robinson It will consist of a round up of things discussed and proposed at each meeting as well as other things going on in the community. It will begin in the next edition but to find any more information about the Community Council, look at the newsletter (situated in the library) or on the Kemnay website (kemnay.info). Members of the public are welcome to attend each meeting which takes place at Kemnay Village Hall. The next meeting is on Thursday 26 June at 7pm.

4 Building Works Update

Since the last edition of the Academy Journal, many changes have taken place on the outside of the building. Windows have now been placed in the main extension and the gym is nearing completion. Interior walls are now also being put in place as the preparation continues to make the main extension
watertight. If all things go to plan and everything is completed in time, the extension will hopefully be handed over after summer.

The growth of Kemnay
By 1981 Kemnay had doubled in size with the creation of Bremner Way and Alehousewells School.
However notice that the academy had not been built or not been noted on the map

Local Police Matters in Kemnay
Nine crimes had been reported within the village, five of which were not relevant to the general community.
Three of the crimes reported were vandalism. Local officers continued to monitor and deal with young drivers within the village. Concerns were also raised about vandalism at the village hall.
