Annual Report Our Mission
USA Hockey ANNUAL REPORT OUR MISSION USA Hockey provides THE FOUNDATION for the sport of ice hockey in America; helps young people BECOME LEADERS, even Olympic heroes; and CONNECTS THE GAME at every level while promoting a lifelong LOVE OF THE SPORT. Key Partners in Hockey A YEAR OF MUCH ACCOMPLISHMENT The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games treat us to magical moments that inspire our nation and influence increased participation in our sport. And this year was no different in Sochi, Ron DeGregorio President Russia, for the 2014 Games. We won’t soon forget the grand celebration of our Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, shown nationwide on NBC, after a riveting 1-0 win over host Russia in the gold-medal game. Or the theatrics of T.J. Oshie scoring four times in a shootout, including the decisive goal in the eighth round, that led to a preliminary-round victory over Russia in one of the most anticipated men’s games in Olympic Dave Ogrean history. Executive Director And while we fell short of earning gold medals in men’s and women’s hockey, the performance of EXECUTIVE our teams will no doubt inspire more people of all ages to play our great game. COMMITTEE We’re well positioned to handle the influx of those new players thanks to the continued efforts 2013-14 across all areas of our organization. President 1 Safety is at the top of our priority list each and every day and we continued this year to devote Ron DeGregorio resources to research and education that affect both on- and off-ice safety. -

Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Hockey Goaltending by Brian Daccord Brian Daccord, top lieutenant for GM Bill Armstrong, leaves Coyotes' front office. Brian Daccord, who spent this season as the special assistant to Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong, has resigned from his position, the team confirmed on Saturday. Daccord was hired in September, the first person Armstrong brought on to his hockey operations staff. He also served as the director of goaltending operations as the Coyotes revamped that area of the club. Reached via text on Saturday, Daccord cited a desire to focus on his family and his goaltending development company, Stop It, LLC, which trains goalie prospects. He said he was proud to have worked for the Coyotes and appreciative of the opportunity to work for Armstrong, calling his eight months a "tremendous experience." Daccord added that he will continue to follow the team and looks forward to watching the Coyotes "become a championship organization." The Coyotes operated without an assistant general manager this season, and are in a search for their next head coach. They terminated the contract of former assistant GM Steve Sullivan in February of this year. Hockey Goaltending. The best goalies are in the right place at the right time to stop the puck. They know the angles and have mastered the fundamentals to perform at a consistently high level. Hockey Goaltending is the complete guide for both ice and in-line hockey players to excel at the game's toughest position. With this book, even spectacular saves will seem easy. About the Author. Having played professional hockey in Europe, college hockey in the United States, and junior hockey in Canada, Brian Daccord truly brings a global perspective to the position of goaltender. -

The 11-day tournament, staged Dec. 26, 2010 - Jan. 5, 2011, at HSBC Arena and Dwyer Arena, drew 331,297 fans, second in the 35-year history of the event. Of the tournament’s 31 games, 22 were televised live somewhere around the world, including in the United States, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In the U.S., the NHL Network provided unprecedented coverage, airing 15 of the tournament’s 31 games and delivering daily reports on its popular NHL on the Fly show. On the ice, the U.S. National Junior Team lost only once in six games and captured the bronze medal – its first ever medal on home ice in the event. 2011 USAH Annual Report.indd 1 12/7/11 11:00 AM 2010-11 Executive A MESSAGE FROM OUR LEADERSHIP Committee President Ron DeGregorio We’re pleased to report that the 2010-11 season was one that included growth and much accomplishment for USA Hockey. 2012/2013 ANNUAL REPORT USA HOCKEY Provides the Foundation
2012/2013 ANNUAL REPORT USA HOCKEY provides the foundation for the sport of ice hockey in America; helps young people become leaders, even Olympic heroes; and connects the game at every level while promoting a lifelong love of the sport. Key Partners in Hockey A YEAR WITH MUCH TO CELEBRATE The most exciting times in our organization are in front of us as hockey continues to evolve all across our great nation. The 2012-13 season added another chapter to the rich history of USA Hockey. It was a year that included significant accomplishment with so many reasons to celebrate. We were moved by the smiles on the faces of kids and parents found coast-to-coast in 2012-13 as the implementation of our player Ron DeGregorio development initiative – the American Development Model – continued in President earnest. Endorsed by the National Hockey League, U.S. Olympic Committee, International Ice Hockey Federation and College Hockey, Inc., to name a few, the ADM has – and will – continue to give kids of all ability levels the best chance to reach their full potential in a fun and safe environment. As Mike Richter, one of our nation’s most successful goaltenders and now a youth hockey parent recently said, “Why in the world would a kid want to play hockey if they’re not having fun?” At the heart of the ADM is fun, and Dave Ogrean that will result in kids staying in the game longer and ultimately being better Executive Director players. Coaches are the lifeblood of our organization and we’re proud to say President our coaching education program continues to be recognized as the gold Ron DeGregorio standard in amateur sports. -
