Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Hockey Goaltending by Brian Daccord Brian Daccord, Top Lieutenant for GM Bill Armstrong, Leaves Coyotes' Front Office Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Hockey Goaltending by Brian Daccord Brian Daccord, top lieutenant for GM Bill Armstrong, leaves Coyotes' front office. Brian Daccord, who spent this season as the special assistant to Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong, has resigned from his position, the team confirmed on Saturday. Daccord was hired in September, the first person Armstrong brought on to his hockey operations staff. He also served as the director of goaltending operations as the Coyotes revamped that area of the club. Reached via text on Saturday, Daccord cited a desire to focus on his family and his goaltending development company, Stop It, LLC, which trains goalie prospects. He said he was proud to have worked for the Coyotes and appreciative of the opportunity to work for Armstrong, calling his eight months a "tremendous experience." Daccord added that he will continue to follow the team and looks forward to watching the Coyotes "become a championship organization." The Coyotes operated without an assistant general manager this season, and are in a search for their next head coach. They terminated the contract of former assistant GM Steve Sullivan in February of this year. Hockey Goaltending. The best goalies are in the right place at the right time to stop the puck. They know the angles and have mastered the fundamentals to perform at a consistently high level. Hockey Goaltending is the complete guide for both ice and in-line hockey players to excel at the game's toughest position. With this book, even spectacular saves will seem easy. About the Author. Having played professional hockey in Europe, college hockey in the United States, and junior hockey in Canada, Brian Daccord truly brings a global perspective to the position of goaltender. A former player and coach at Merrimack College (NCAA Division I, Hockey East), Daccord holds a masters degree in sports science and is certified by USA Hockey as a master-level coach. At present, he is the head hockey coach and general manager of the Valley Junior Warriors in the Eastern Junior Hockey League and teaches goaltenders of all ages at camps and clinics throughout the year. Daccord, a native of Montreal, lives in North Andover, Massachusetts, with his wife, Daniela, and son, Joël. About the Author, Brian Daccord. Brian Daccord is a former goaltending consultant of the Boston Bruins. His "Ask the Coach" column appears in each issue of Goalies' World magazine, and he can be heard across North America on his weekly radio segment “Between the Pipes With Brian Daccord” on the Fast Hockey Show on XM radio. Coach Daccord was featured in Hockey News as one of the NHL's top goalie coaches with “crease clout.” He has worked with more than 30 professional goaltenders since 1999, including 2003-04 NHL Rookie of the Year Andrew Raycroft, NHL record holder for consecutive shutout minutes Brian Boucher, and Scott Clemmensen, national champion from Boston College. Daccord has also helped develop 22 NHL draft picks since 2000. His current clients include top NHL, AHL, ECHL, college, and junior goaltenders. ISBN 13: 9780880117913. Any player who's ever strapped on skates knows that quality goaltending and winning hockey go hand in hand. As a goaltender in low-scoring games, you have little margin for error in trying to keep your team in the game. In wide-open games, you're the last line of defense with little support from your teammates. A sure-fire guide to reaching your potential in the net, Hockey Goaltending provides a well-illustrated and comprehensive look at mastering the unique skills and challenges faced by goaltenders. Accompanying 135 photos and illustrations is detailed instruction on the fundamental skills required to play goal, strategies for dealing with every shooting situation, and complete off-ice conditioning programs. Written for coaches and goaltenders in both ice and roller hockey, you'll find everything you need to prepare in practice and perform in games. Profiles of top NHL goaltenders in each chapter add even greater insight into proven techniques and tactics. Hockey Goaltending gives beginning- and intermediate-level players solid advice for choosing proper equipment and mental training tips for handling the pressures of hockey's toughest position. Don't let this one get by you- Hockey Goaltending may be your ticket to becoming an elite goalie in your league this season. "synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title. “Brian Daccord has fired a winner with Hockey Goaltending, and there will be fewer game-winning goals scored on its readers because of it!” Martin Brodeur New Jersey Devils. “This book breaks new ground for the aspiring goaltender and the goaltender coach. Brian is of the generation that can present the basics of modern goaltending with an appreciation for the position’s history. With the inclusion of the in-line material, this book is unique among available teaching tools.” Joe Bertagna Former Goalie Coach, Boston Bruins Goalie Coach, 1994 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. “This book is very well-written. It covers all phases of goaltending. It’s a must-read for coaches and goaltenders.” Warren Strelow President, Strelow Goalie Schools Goalie Consultant, San Jose Sharks Goalie Coach, 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. 2012/2013 ANNUAL REPORT USA HOCKEY provides the foundation for the sport of ice hockey in America; helps young people become leaders, even Olympic heroes; and connects the game at every level while promoting a lifelong love of the sport. Key Partners in Hockey A YEAR WITH MUCH TO CELEBRATE The most exciting times in our organization are in front of us as hockey continues to evolve all across our great nation. The 2012-13 season added another chapter to the rich history of USA Hockey. It was a year that included significant accomplishment with so many reasons to celebrate. We were moved by the smiles on the faces of kids and parents found coast-to-coast in 2012-13 as the implementation of our player Ron DeGregorio development initiative – the American Development Model – continued in President earnest. Endorsed by the National Hockey League, U.S. Olympic Committee, International Ice Hockey Federation and College Hockey, Inc., to name a few, the ADM has – and will – continue to give kids of all ability levels the best chance to reach their full potential in a fun and safe environment. As Mike Richter, one of our nation’s most successful goaltenders and now a youth hockey parent recently said, “Why in the world would a kid want to play hockey if they’re not having fun?” At the heart of the ADM is fun, and Dave Ogrean that will result in kids staying in the game longer and ultimately being better Executive Director players. Coaches are the lifeblood of our organization and we’re proud to say President our coaching education program continues to be recognized as the gold Ron DeGregorio standard in amateur sports.
