PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources screened this project for potential impacts to species and resources under DCNR's responsibility, which includes plants, terrestrial invertebrates, natural communities, and geologic features only. No Impact Anticipated PNDI records indicate species or resources under DCNR's jurisdiction are located in the vicinity of the project. We reviewed your project submission within the following review areas: I. Cowanesque Lake and Cowanesque River 2. North Branch Susquehanna River from the New York Ste line to the proposed Bell Bend site 3. North Branch Susquehanna River from the proposed Bell Bend site downstream to its confluence with the West Branch of the Susquehanna River at Sunbury 4. Mainstream Susquehanna River from Sunbury downstream to Harrisburg 5. Mainstream Susquehanna River from Harrisburg downstream to Holtwood Dam 6. Rushton Mine expansion area 7. Moshannon Creek downstream from Rushton Mine to its confluence with the West Branch of the Susquehanna River 8. West Branch of the Susquehanna River from Moshannon Creek downstream to its confluence with the North Branch of the Susquehanna River at Sunbury 9. Tioga-Hammond Reservoir project and the Tioga River According to DCNR's records, sensitive species do not occur in close proximity to the proposed Bell Bend and Rushton Mine construction sites or the affected lakes and reservoirs. While populations of concern are located along the affected rivers, the anticipated temporary changes in hydrology will not likely cause a detrimental impact. Therefore, DCNR has determined that no impact is likely. No further coordination with our agency is needed for this project. This response represents the most up-to-date review of the PNDI data files and is valid for two (2) years only. If project plans change or more information on listed or proposed species becomes available, our determination may be reconsidered. For PNDI project updates, please see the PNHP website at www.naturalheritage.state.pa.us for guidance. As a reminder, this finding applies to potential impacts under DCNR's jurisdiction only. Visit the PNHP website for directions on contacting the Commonwealth's other resource agencies for environmental review.
