CNBC-TV18’s Sanjay Suri and Arvind Sukumar report. Top Indian business leaders including Ratan Tata, Sunil Mittal, Adi Gordrej, Anand Mahindra and Chanda Kochhar were invited to Downing Street to discuss new opportunities between India and Britain. David Cameron, Prime Minister of Great Britain said, “Britain is one of the most open economies in the world. It is one of the easiest places to invest, own a business and raise capital. We want to make it even more open and welcoming.” Indian business leaders were cautiously optimistic about the outcome. Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Sons said, “It?s been a very instructive morning. We discussed several possible areas, which we believe could enhance the trade and industry between the two countries. We have had the benefit of the Prime Minister and the Chancellors views on what we might do.” David Cameron is looking forward to take the agreements after his visit to India last year. Britain is prepared to be more inviting to business from India. Cameron is pushing India to open its economy even more. This is not the first time that a British Prime Minister has made this kind of push. But, this one appears a little more promising than the ones before.
