rance- arly in Texas history there are little known facts that most people don’t know about. Sure we FHowdy, the 2nd CFDA European contest Eknow about the Alamo and the but what about the Texas Rangers, the was on May 20th at TOL-France. We had Republic of Texas and what was Samuel Colt to both. Here’s what I found out. It only took ten 10 shooters on this sunny day. The choice months, from the fall of the Alamo, to form the Republic of Texas. Being from Texas I didn’t know for contest regulation was the Nevada 8 this. I thought like most Government projects it must have taken years. I guess my fellow Texicans Format, 35 duels, each competitor shot had it together back then. A lot of fighting, dying and organizing. 7 rounds by random draw. No X-Out The Texas Rangers were not always called by that name. They where put in place by Elimination factor, because 3 shooters Stephen F. Austin about 1823 to protect early settlers from Indians and bandit raids. They were were beginners. The best time of the called companies of mounted gunmen, mounted volunteers and scouts. They had other name that I match was .555 for Black Eagle Montana. wont mention here for their toughness. The name Texas Ranger did show up until 1874 in official legislation. In 1835, as the movement for Texas independence was about to blow up a council of We awarded a U.S. car license plate for Texas representatives created a “Corps of Rangers”. In 1836, the Texas Ranger helped protect the top 3. settlers retreating from dictator Santa Ana’s army in the famous “Runaway Scrape”. They harassed See You Soon, at Fastest Gun Alive! Mexican troops and gathered valuable intelligence for the Texas Army. The only men to ride in Black Eagle Montana response to Col. William B. Travis last minute plea from the Alamo were Rangers who fought and Top 3 died for Texas freedom. 1st Black Eagle Montana Now lets talk about Sam Colt. You know “God created men and Sam Colt made them 2nd Slowhand, 3rd Valdez equal” and his Texas connection. Seems the Republic of Texas Navy purchased a number of Colt Paterson revolvers. But there’s a catch here. The Texas Navy had no ships. WHAT ??? That’s right they had no ships so they didn’t need the pistols. So what happen to the Paterson Colts ? They where sold, yes SOLD to the Texas Rangers and other militia members. The .36 caliber five-shot revolver was a deadly effective defense on the Texas frontier. No longer would the Rangers have to stop and reload after one shot while the Indians continued firing arrows. Colt built his reputation on the use of his weapons by the Texas Rangers. One Ranger, Samuel H. Walker made some suggestion for improving the pistol that Colt adopted during the Mexican War. The new weapon, a five pound canon, was call the Walker Colt. Now we know, if you didn’t, a little more about Texas and its history. If you’ve never been to Texas take a trip and spend some time in and walk through the Alamo. Go next door to the Menger Hotel and sit in the bar where Teddy Roosevelt organized his Rough Riders. Make a trip to the San Jacinto battlefield near Houston. Just think and reflect on what happened in Three European CFDA these locations. There’s so much to do in Texas and there’s a lot of Old West history around every Life Members corner. Go see it ! IntroducIng QuIck cal’s nEW Gunslinger Laser Target II Quick Cal has long been working on ways to innovate and develop affordable and relevant equipment for the enjoyment of Cowboy Fast Draw. When he developed the original Gunslinger Laser Target as an assessory to his Gunslinger Timing Systems, it worked well, but he still pursued improvements. The Gunslinger Laser Target II, greatly reduces the likelyhood that even a low cost continuous beam red-dot laser can not be swept onto the target, to record a time. It usually takes the initial pulse to score a hit, especially when using the G-Sight Laser Cartridge, which is now a stock item in the CFDA General Store, at a very affordable price. This allows the shooter to know if they are actually hitting the target. The Gunslinger Laser Target II, still has a CFDA/Surestrike Laser Setting that will only record a hit for that One Lane System (Shown) frequency. The possibility for Official CFDA Laser Matches is here! * Just a Laser Target II $299 See Our Full Line of Gunslinger Timing Systems (Download the Information & Price List) at * One Lane System $599 * Two Lane System $1,164 The CFDA General Store. To Order, go to: WWW.COWBOYFASTDRAW.COM OR CALL 775-575-1802 All include 1 FREE G-Sight Laser! G-Sight Lasers - .45 lc Cartridge (No Adapter Needed) CFDA now stocks G-Sight Lasers, they are a much more affordable Laser Cartridge that emits a continuous beam until the pressure is taken off of the primer switch. Colt actions must be re-cocked, or on Rugers just release the trigger (We suggest a 3 Cartridge Package, so that after each shot all you have to do it cock it once and you’re ready for the next.) We modify the front taper of G-Sight Lasers so that they will fit in newer Ruger Vaqueros Models.

We remove the O-Rings, but include them, and additional instruction in the box. Set of 3 (Shown) Shooter Set! Draw!
