 Time: 30 mins

 Note: The love theme from the 1997 blockbuster , this became Celine Dion’s most successful song, selling over 15 million copies.

1) Write the following ten words on the board:

2) Students match the rhyming pairs. Key : are – far / door – more / fear – here / stay - way / to – you

3) Play the song. Students tick the words as they hear them.

4) Give each student a copy of the worksheet. Before playing the song ask them to try to insert the missing words, as listed above, in the correct gaps, based on their previous listening and context and rhymes (the rhyming words occur together!).

5) Play the song. Students check their predictions in 4).

6) Ask students to underline the verbs in the Present Simple and to circle those in the future. Can they find any other tenses? Key: See complete lyrics on final page of this worksheet. Present Simple in bold Future in italics Other tenses: Present Perfect (have come); Past Simple (was, I loved)

7) Phonetics Exercise: Ask them to find the similar ending sounds in the same line, writing the phonetic transcription of each. Give them the following example: night- my /a / (line 1) If students are not very familiar with the phonetic alphabet, you can write the symbols on the board and ask them to find them in the song. There is a phonetic chart on www.tuneintoenglish.com .
