Abstract Golf is a growing sport worldwide. That's why golf industry has been chosen for my research. The research was conducted for the golf club Kerigolf. Kerigolf is aimed at attracting Russian customers to the club. That's why a suggestion for attracting Russian clients will be offered in the research. • Golf in Russia Golf in Russia Is Still at Its Early Stages but It Has Already Become One of the Hottest Spots for Golf Industry
GORKI Golf & Resort Golf in Russia Golf in Russia is still at its early stages but it has already become one of the hottest spots for golf industry development. The first golf course was founded in 1989 in Moscow, and the first professional championship-level course was built only in 1993 in the Moscow region, but for a long time golf courses in Moscow remained closed. Now basically all the golf courses are in the Moscow region. However, one of the regions actively developing at the moment is the North-Western one. St. Petersburg in general is a novice in the field of golf, like all of Russia, and until recently had only one golf course in St. Petersburg which was a 3-hole course with driving range of the Dune Golf Club located in the resort area. No other project of 18-hole golf courses was that successful before the GORKI Golf & Resort project had been implemented. In Russia there is still a stereotype that golf is a game for rich men in adulthood, so GORKI Golf & Resort is working to dispel these convoluted beliefs. The implementation of GORKI Golf & Resort project was carried out in 2010. The architect of the project was chosen by the famous Finnish architect Lassi-Pekka Tilander, whose work was highly appreciated by the experts of the European Golf Association and included in the rating of the top 100 golf courses in Europe. In 2011 the construction of the course began, in May 2013 the golf academy was opened and the first three holes of the championship course, in 2014 - 9 holes of the championship course, the opening of the Restaurant and the Clubhouse.

Soviet Art has indeed become the theme of this issue, with a painting by Yuri Pimenov ‘Ball at Olympia’s House’ on the cover. In this month’s ‘Russian Reflections’ section, Tobie Mathews offers a chilling insight into literary censorship under Stalin, a time when Osip Mandelshtam (before he died in a labour camp) quipped: “Poetry is taken so seriously in Russia that people are even shot for it.” We all known that Alaska was Russian, but do we know how, and under what circumstances, the Russians sold off these extensive territories? In this issue we publish the first of a two-part series by Yury Samoilov on the sale of Alaska.

Following the predawn air raids on the IS targets in Syria, Turkish police arrested almost 300 suspected members of IS and pro-Kurdish militant groups nationwide, in one of Turkey’s biggest recent crackdowns on extremists. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the bombing operation had “100 percent” achieved its goals and had “successfully eliminated the targets” targeted by three Turkish F-16s. The air raids were ordered in the wake of a suicide bombing blamed on IS that killed 32 activists on the Syrian border on Monday and cross-border clashes Thursday that claimed the life of a Turkish soldier. The Turkish war planes dropped their charges while in Turkish air- space and did not enter Syrian airspace, the CNN-Turk television channel reported. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights moni- toring group said nine IS fighters were killed in the attacks and 12 wounded. “Turkey will show the strongest reaction to the slightest movement that threatens it,” Davutoglu said. “The operation against IS reached its target and will not stop,” he added.
