They mark the passage of an individual from juvenescence to adulthood or in some cases the point at which a juvenile is invested with the right to perform prayers and other social activities. Any ideal institution enables its students to grow, mature and act wisely according to circumstances which is also the main purpose of a rite of passage. I am proud to be heading a department that stands on such fertile soil as the Delhi Dean’s MESSAGE School of Economics which has produced great intellectuals and leaders. As a message to the prospective recruiters I would like to say that the Department of Commerce is one of the oldest and most established Departments in the country. The main objective of the two professional courses Master of International Business (MIB) and Master of Human Resource and Organizational Development (MHROD) is to produce good citizens and managers. The placement of MIB and MHROD students is facilitated by the Placement Cell supervised by a placement officer. On behalf of this Cell, we would like to invite all prospective employers to visit our campus at Delhi School of Economics to recruit students ending their master’s course in May, 2014. Going by the latest trends in the placement of our students, it is indeed heartening to note that leading corporate giants have been visiting our Department regularly with employment offers for outgoing students of our academic programmes MIB and MHROD. Our website (http://www.commercedu.com) provides further details about course curriculum and other relevant information regarding placement opportunities. Companies interested in campus recruitment are requested to send the Campus Recruitment Form (preferably with relevant company literature), duly filled-in, by email/fax/courier/post to the Placement Officer. Dates for campus interviews are fixed on a first-come, first-served basis. It may be mentioned here that the Department does not charge any placement fee. We also do not permit placement consultants or third-party recruiters to conduct campus interviews. We do hope that this placement brochure will be useful to employers visiting the Department. I convey my best wishes to the new batch (2013-2015) of MIB-MHROD students and hope that they continue to uphold the legacy of the Department. May they have a life full of challenges and yet have the most professionally satisfying careers. Department of Commerce, in its endeavor to build MESSAGE that confidence, runs the two year full time professional programme - Master of International Business (MIB). The course was first started in the year 1995 and has grown as one of the most prestigious courses in the field of international business. The course and its alumni are known for its repute in the corporate world. Students undergo a strict admission process of the common aptitude test followed by group discussion and personal interviews. We always intend to offer best of knowledge and skills to our students and provide them the environment for decision making and self-growth. They get the opportunity to interact with best of faculty both from the academic and the corporate world. Varied activities, symposia, guest lectures, debates and quizzes, annual convention, are a regular part of MIB students’ life. Our aim is to empower students to face the challenges of the globalized world and our past placement records are a testimony in this direction. I am presenting before you the MIB batches of 2014 and 2015 for final and summer placements, and hope that you will be able to discover their potential to the best of your satisfaction.
