The conference is technically supported by the IEEE Alexandria Subsection. It is scheduled to be held in 13-15 July 2021, Air Defense College (ADC), Alexandria, Egypt, in a hybrid format (ATTEND and/or ONLINE) in light of global mass COVD-19 vaccination campaigns. The conference program will include invited sessions on selected topics and in addition to contributed sessions. The technical sessions and invited talks are expected to provide a comprehensive coverage of the recent advances in telecommunications related area. The submitted papers must describe original work and be within the scope of conference. A limited number of invited papers will also be included in the program. Accepted papers will be considered for inclusion by IEEE Xplore.     Egyptian Interest in the Oases in the New Kingdom and a New Stela for Seth from Mut el-Kharab Colin Hope and Olaf Kaper The study of ancient interaction between Egypt and the occupants of regions to the west has focused, quite understandably, upon the major confrontations with the groups now regularly referred to as Liby- ans from the time of Seti I to Ramesses III, and the impact these had upon Egyptian society.1 The situ- ation in the oases of the Western Desert and the role they might have played during these conflicts has not received, until recently, much attention, largely because of the paucity of information either from the Nile Valley or the oases themselves. Yet, given their strategic location, it is not unrealistic to imagine that their control would have been of importance to Egypt both during the confrontations and in the period thereafter. In this short study we present a summary of recently discovered material that contributes sig- nificantly to this question, with a focus upon discoveries made at Mut el-Kharab since excavations com- menced there in 001,3 and a more detailed discussion of one object, a new stela with a hymn dedicated to Seth, which is the earliest attestation of his veneration at the site. We hope that the comments will be of interest to the scholar to whom this volume is dedicated; they are offered with respect, in light of the major contribution he has made to Ramesside studies, and with thanks for his dedication as a teacher and generosity as a colleague.

    EGYPT 2015 HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY According to its constitution, Egypt is a republic governed by an elected president and a unicameral legislature. Domestic and international observers concluded the presidential election that took place in May 2014 was administered professionally and in line with the country’s laws, while also expressing serious concerns that government limitations on association, assembly, and expression constrained broad political participation. The constitution granted the president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, legislative authority until the election of the new parliament. Parliamentary elections occurred in several rounds from October through December, and the new parliament was scheduled to hold its first session on January 10, 2016. Domestic and international observers concluded that government authorities administered the parliamentary elections professionally and in accordance with the country’s laws. Observers expressed concern about restrictions on freedom of peaceful assembly, association, and expression and their negative effect on the political climate surrounding the elections. Civilian authorities maintained effective control over the security forces. The most significant human rights problems were excessive use of force by security forces, deficiencies in due process, and the suppression of civil liberties. Nour, CARE International in Egypt Executive Summary This study is the third output of the SDC‐funded “Improving Employment and Income through Development of Egyptian Aquaculture” (IEIDEAS), a three‐year project being jointly implemented by the WorldFish Center and CARE International in Egypt with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. The aim of the study is to gather data on the retailer segment of the aquaculture value chain in Egypt, namely on the employment and market conditions of the women fish retailers in the five target governorates. In addition, this study provides a case study in Minya and Fayoum of the current income levels and standards of living of this target group. Finally, the study aims to identify the major problems and obstacles facing these women retailers and suggest some relevant interventions. CARE staff conducted the research presented in this report from April to July 2012, with support from WorldFish staff and consultants. Methodology The study team collected data from a variety of sources, through a combination of primary and secondary data collection. Some of the sources include: 1. In‐depth interviews and focus group discussions with women retailres 2. Government reports 3. Civil Society Organizations 4. Traders, fishermen and wholesalers After secondary sources were reviewed and the planning and mapping was completed, primary data was collected through a series of interviews based on a structure questionnaire as well as a few informal group discussions with women fish retailers in the five target governorates of Sharqiya, Kafr El‐Sheikh, Sharqiya, Fayoum and Minya.
