Planning Outlook All mountain areas of Britain from Tuesday, 5 November, 2019 A generally cold and unsettled pattern is expected to continue for at least the next week to 10 days; higher mountains staying near or below freezing point. Areas of low pressure will typically track across central and southern Britain, with a distinct lack of westerly winds for Scotland at least - comparatively lower rainfall amounts compared to average in the W/NW Highlands - winds more commonly east or northeasterlies. Some dry days, but precipitation frequent in many areas. Very wet underfoot, with flooding in places. Snow likely to fall regularly on higher mountains.
