n late January, photographers in RITs photojournalism program set out

to make a visual document of diaJy life at RTT. They spread out over the

campus, shooting many different subjects. As a visiting professor at RTT, I

expected a more sedate and studiotis atmosphere, but the photographers

shot a wide variety of visual self-expression. I In many ways, RIT seems a typical American campus, even with it's overabundance of brick motifs. As with most campiu', it's isolation from and inte•

gration with the REAL WORLD makes it a fascinating periscope on huirun expe•

rience.

On one level, the photographs help us pause a moment and ponder oiu daily

lives; how would we look to a foreigner on a first-time visit to a college campus?

On the other level, they form instant nostalgia; college life in the '90'i.
