This study investigates the prevalence of Nursing, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India neck, shoulder and low back pain among secondary school students in Reethapuram, Kanyakumari District. Maheswari K Method: A cross sectional study was administered to 100 secondary school students in Reethapuram, Vice Principal, Vinayaka Kanyakumari District using a standardized Nordiac questionnaire which seeks information on the Missions Annapoorana College of prevalence of neck, shoulder and low back pain. Nursing, Salem, Tamil Nadu, Results: Total respondents consist of 42 males and 58 females in between 13 years to 17 years old. The India highest prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was neck pain (66%), followed by shoulder pain (60%) and low back pain (22%). 31 male students (31%, OR: 0.45) and 35 female students (35%, OR: 0.54) were Martin Ebenezer C affected by neck pain. Physiotherapy Lecturer, Conclusion: Results show that musculoskeletal pain is a common increasing problem in adolescents Vinayaka Missions Annapoorana especially girls, suggesting more problems in the young adults of the future.

    City Corporate cum Business Plan for Colachel Final Report Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu - 1 - 1 PROJECT OVERVIEW 1.1 ASSIGNMENT BACKGROUND The World Bank has been a partner in urban reform program of Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) with engagement through Tamil Nadu Urban Development Project (TNUDP) - TNUDP-I, TNUDP-II and TNUDP-III (in progress). Towards taking forward the urban reform agenda, the GoTN is now implementing the TNUDP-III with focus on furthering the reforms initiated under TNUDP-II. The Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited (TNUIFSL), as a financial intermediary, intends to assist the Commissioner of Municipal Administration (CMA) in strengthening and improving the financial position of its Municipalities for effective capital investment management and urban service delivery. These towns possess a good potential for implementation of such financial reforms for which it is essential to formulate a City Corporate Cum Business Plan. The CMA has started the process of capacity building in Municipalities through this process to enhance the vision of the ULBs in growth of their towns. The TNUIFSL has appointed M/s. Community Consulting India Private Limited (CCI) to prepare City Corporate Cum Business Plan (CCBP) for Colachel Municipality. 1.1.1 CITY CORPORATE PLAN A City Corporate Plan (CCP) is the ULB’s corporate strategy that presents both a vision of a desired future perspective for the city and the ULB’s organization, and mission statements on how the ULB, together with other stakeholders, intends to work towards achieving their long- term vision in the next ten years. After the adoption of the Constitution amendments in the year 1994 in this State, the town panchayats were brought under the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act,1920 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920). According to section 3-B of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act,1920, any local area having a population of not less than 5,000 and an annual income of not less than 1 lakh of rupees shall be constituted as a town panchayat. Since most of the town panchayats are financially weak, and rural in character, the Government considered that the town panchayats having a population of less than 30,000 may be reclassified as village panchayats so as to enable them to receive more funds from the Government of India and State Government under various grants and assistance.

These rocks provide an ideal vantage point for visitors desiring to view the land end of India. On one of these rocks, Swami Vivekananda sat in long and deep meditation, when he visited Kanniyakumari in 1892. On this rock, the “Vivekananda Rock Memorial” was built in 1970 with a blend of all the architectural styles of India. A statue of Swami Vivekananda has been installed inside this memorial building. One can also see “Sri Padha Parai”, believed by the devout to be the foot prints of the virgin Goddess Kanniyakumari on this rock. The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a 133 feet tall stone sculpture of the Tamil poet and philosopher, Tiruvalluvar, author of the Thirukkural located adjacent to Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
