The District is bounded by Tirunelveli District on the North and the east. • The South Eastern boundary is flanked by Gulf of Mannar. On the South and the South West, the boundaries are the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. On the West and North West it is bound by Kerala State. • The District lies between 8o 03' and 8o 35' N Latitude, 77o 15' and 77o 36' E Longitude and has an areal extent of 1684 sq.km. • There are 9 Blocks, 95 Villages and 1384 Habitations in the District. Physiography and Drainage: • The major river in the district is Kuzhithuraiar. • This river has got two major distributaries namely Kodayar and Paralayar. There are many tributaries for Kodayar River and among them are Chittar I and Chittar II rivers. • The origin of Kodayar River is Western Ghats and the river confluences with Arabian Sea near Thengaipattanam, at a distance of about 56 Km. west of Cape Comorian, the southernmost tip of India. • Valliar, another small river and its tributary Thoovalar, originates from Velimalai Hills, and confluences with Arabian Sea near Manavalakurichi. Pazhayar is another small river draining the district. This study investigates the prevalence of Nursing, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India neck, shoulder and low back pain among secondary school students in Reethapuram, Kanyakumari District. Maheswari K Method: A cross sectional study was administered to 100 secondary school students in Reethapuram, Vice Principal, Vinayaka Kanyakumari District using a standardized Nordiac questionnaire which seeks information on the Missions Annapoorana College of prevalence of neck, shoulder and low back pain. Nursing, Salem, Tamil Nadu, Results: Total respondents consist of 42 males and 58 females in between 13 years to 17 years old. The India highest prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was neck pain (66%), followed by shoulder pain (60%) and low back pain (22%). 31 male students (31%, OR: 0.45) and 35 female students (35%, OR: 0.54) were Martin Ebenezer C affected by neck pain. Physiotherapy Lecturer, Conclusion: Results show that musculoskeletal pain is a common increasing problem in adolescents Vinayaka Missions Annapoorana especially girls, suggesting more problems in the young adults of the future.

    City Corporate cum Business Plan for Colachel Final Report Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu - 1 - 1 PROJECT OVERVIEW 1.1 ASSIGNMENT BACKGROUND The World Bank has been a partner in urban reform program of Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) with engagement through Tamil Nadu Urban Development Project (TNUDP) - TNUDP-I, TNUDP-II and TNUDP-III (in progress). Towards taking forward the urban reform agenda, the GoTN is now implementing the TNUDP-III with focus on furthering the reforms initiated under TNUDP-II. The Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited (TNUIFSL), as a financial intermediary, intends to assist the Commissioner of Municipal Administration (CMA) in strengthening and improving the financial position of its Municipalities for effective capital investment management and urban service delivery. These towns possess a good potential for implementation of such financial reforms for which it is essential to formulate a City Corporate Cum Business Plan. The CMA has started the process of capacity building in Municipalities through this process to enhance the vision of the ULBs in growth of their towns. The TNUIFSL has appointed M/s. Community Consulting India Private Limited (CCI) to prepare City Corporate Cum Business Plan (CCBP) for Colachel Municipality. 1.1.1 CITY CORPORATE PLAN A City Corporate Plan (CCP) is the ULB’s corporate strategy that presents both a vision of a desired future perspective for the city and the ULB’s organization, and mission statements on how the ULB, together with other stakeholders, intends to work towards achieving their long- term vision in the next ten years. A CCP translates mission into actions and actions into outcomes.
