GOVERNORS STATE UNIVERSITY From its inception in 1969, innovation and putting students first have been the hallmarks of GSU’s success. In 2017, that tradition continues. The university has expanded its reach and has solidified its commitment to inspiring hope, realizing dreams, and strengthening community for generations to come. Our work is informed by the following principles: GSU’s strategic planning and financial decisions always put students first. Many of the 70s porn performers are gone and buried. ODs, suicides and AIDS – which also happen to mainstream performers – it seems like in your business a lot more actors had some really rough, and even deadly, times. So, to what do you owe your longevity and survival? There’re only a handful of Marilyn: [laughs] Probably a little bit of AA names who meet the test of here and there. I also have a teenager who keeps legendary adult film icon: JOHN me real busy. As far as being a survivor over the HOLMES, LINDA LOVELACE, RON years, I didn’t totally over-expose myself, pardon JEREMY, TRACY LORDS, GINGER LYNN, JENNA JAMESON the pun. Incidents of Misogyny and Sexism in the UFC Rampage Jackson In the YouTube video, called “How To Pick Up a Gurl – Fast,” Rampage Jackson attempts to rape a woman in a parking garage. Before attacking his target, Rampage instructs viewers to use chloroform as “something to help her relax” and zip ties. The UFC fighter explains, “I like this parking lot because my cousin work for the security company so I know the cameras are gonna be out of service right now.”1 As Rampage stalks his victim, he comments, “And I hope she got low self-esteem.” The video has received over 200,000 views and remains accessible for public viewing.2 To our knowledge, the UFC has not issued an official statement, fined, or suspended Jackson for the video. In July 2008, video footage was uploaded of Rampage positioning himself behind a female Japanese reporter, placing his hand on her thigh, and dry humping her. When she moves away from him, he follows her and grabs her leg.3 The video currently has 1.4 million views. In June 2009, Rampage, in the middle of an interview, holds Cage Potato reporter Heather Nichols against him, and dry humps her for a full 37 seconds. He continues to hold her after she attempts to end the interview, and does not let her go until a man walks up to Rampage and taps him on the shoulder a few seconds after the interview ends. The video has over 9.8 million views.4 In late May 2011, when being interviewed by MMA Heat host Karyn Bryant, Rampage replied that she’s “Jamaican me horny” in response to her statement that she was Jamaican, black and white.

  • POP CULTURE Behind the Porn Door - Jennie Yabroff, Special to the Chronicle Sunday, January 16, 2005
POP CULTURE Behind the porn door - Jennie Yabroff, Special to the Chronicle Sunday, January 16, 2005 New York -- The photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders is sitting at the breakfast table in his East Village townhouse, drinking a cup of tea before being interviewed about his latest series of portraits. His 27-year-old daughter, Isca, who is also an artist, spoons oatmeal as she talks about the technique she used for her recent paintings. "Forget the interview, let's talk about this all morning," Greenfield-Sanders says with a smile. "This is much more interesting than porn." Such is the current state of pornography, which has rapidly morphed from unspoken taboo to appropriate topic of breakfast table conversation, innocuous as oatmeal. Reigning porn queen Jenna Jameson is a fixture of both cable and network TV, and her memoir, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star," is a best- seller. Greenfield-Sander's new show, "XXX," for which 30 porn stars posed nude and in their street clothes, opened last week at San Francisco's John Berggruen Gallery. The New York opening was featured recently on "60 Minutes," and an accompanying book titled, "XXX: Thirty Porn-Star Portraits," includes essays on the subject by a wide ranging group of name brand writers and artists. An HBO documentary, "Thinking XXX,'' airs this month, and a CD is in the works. "Right now, there's a cresting of public interest in porn," says porn pioneer Nina Hartley, who posed for "XXX" and also contributed an essay and interviewed Nancy ("My Secret Garden'') Friday.
