Mike Kirwan Venice YOUR Fumed over jet traffic OPINION Editor: Thank you for finally addressing the problems (air quality, noise, etc.) surrounding the Santa Monica Airport (SMDP, Aug. 11, page 5). Out of significant frustration, I MATTERS! recently wrote to my state representative in an effort to combat the direct effects on the quality of life created by jet traffic at the airport. My niece and I were playing catch in the front yard, but we were forced inside after the fumes from an idling jet made us both nauseous. Jet traffic is the only negative in our beautiful neighborhood. I sincerely hope by raising the awareness of this issue, we can create positive change. Thanks again.
