Thinking Outside the Box: Property Rights as a Key to Environmental Protection ROBERT H. CUTTING and LAWRENCE B. CAHOON* Professor Oliver Houck wrote in Science that the promise of in- corporating objective science into environmental law and policy has been subverted by the political system. We offer a solution based on the property rights of receptors of pollutants, rather than the current focus on the rights of the "generators"of pollu- tion. Environmental law must require internalization of all costs to the generator,as demanded by market economics, which is difficult given the vast gaps in data (the Data Deficit). The burden should be placed on the generator to quantify and to demonstrate scientifically containment of all trans-boundary ef- fects. The present systems effectively subsidize polluters by per- mitting them to deposit waste into public and private property and to use the population as test subjects while unconstitution- ally taking their property rights. -

Doing Business in Denmark
DOING BUSINESS IN DENMARK Denmark is often considered an easy and attractive place in Europe to set up a company and to do business. This is in no small part due to the country’s constant political and cul- tural situation as well as the relatively simple and predictable legal situation. As a foreign business or investor contemplating doing business in Denmark, there is, however, still a number of fundamental legal rules and principles to take into account. This guide provides a general introduction to certain legal issues which we believe are rel- evant to know based on our experience with international companies contemplating doing business in Denmark. This guide is not an exhaustive list of all the requirements that might apply to international companies and it is not a substitute for legal advice. We recommend that international companies considering doing business in Denmark seek legal advice tailored to the specific business and industry so as to be successful in their business ventures in Denmark. This guide was updated August 2020. The theoretical framework is based on both onomastic studies, such as Amaral (2011), Amaral e Seide (2020), Bajo Pérez (2002), Becker (2012), Fernández Leborans (1999), Urrutia and Sánchez (2009), Van Langendonck (2007), Fernández Leborans (1999) and on analyses about Brazilian soccer studies such as Rodrigues (2010) and Caetano and Rodrigues (2009). The data analyzed are the players’ names on the lists selected to compete World Cup in that period. These names are classified in order to observe variation and change over time. The results indicate a predominance of official names in almost every year as well as a greater contemporary trend towards more formal name variants. Keywords: Brazilian National soccer team, soccer players, anthroponyms. -

The University of Richmond The Political Views and Parliamentary Career of John Selden J. T. Price Senior Honors Thesis Department of History Dr. John R. Rilling March 3, 1995 John Selden rose from a relatively obscure background to become an internationally renowned legal scholar and a key parliamentary leader during the contentious Parliament of 1628-1629. Selden's father was a "ministrell," yet the younger Selden became one of the most respected thinkers in London while still fairly young, and would eventually take a leading role in Parliament. 1 Selden's brilliant mind, personality, and actions as an "honest broker" in his turbulent times made him a man who all sides could respect and who could stay afloat and prosper in the shifting political sands of Seventeenth Century England. John Selden was the son of a minstrel who married Margaret Baker~ the daughter of a Kentish squire.
