Benefiting The Special Olympics Pennsylvania

A wonderful 137-year-old tradition. For generations, The Philadelphia Charity has been dedicated to reinforcing an appreciation in young ladies and gentlemen of the responsibilities and rewards of philanthropy and volunteerism. Young ladies are invited by the Directors to participate in the Ball as . Gentlemen are invited to join the Young Men’s Committee.

Participating as a The name of each Debutante will appear on the Ball invitation.* She will be featured on a full page in a prominent section of the program book with a color photo of herself along with a brief social biography. If a sponsor is submitted to cover their donation, the sponsor(s) will be recognized on this page. She will also have an opportunity to submit photos of any charity or volunteer work she has participated in for the program book volunteer page. She will be encouraged to participate in the Special Olympics Pennsylvania events offered throughout the year. *In order for debutante’s name to be printed on the Ball invitation, RSVP must be received by September 18, 2016.

The Night of the Ball Debutantes and their mothers or special guest will receive guests upon entering the Ballroom. Her father or presenter of her choice will present each Debutante to the Directors in a formal presentation at the Ball. The Debutantes will then grace the dance floor with their fathers or presenters for the Debutante Waltz. Immediately following, the members of the Young Men’s Committee and any escorts, will join the floor for the Commencement Dance. A Debutante is welcome to invite a young man to escort her, but it is not required. Her escort is welcome to join the Young Men’s Committee if he so chooses. Debutantes are required to wear long white evening and opera length white gloves. The Board of Directors will provide lovely bouquets for all Debutantes. Debutante Subscription/Donation $3500 ($3100 tax donation) Includes 2 premium tickets for the event for the Debutante and her escort (or special guest). Also includes a full Debutante page in the program book. A photo shoot with our professional photographer may be arranged at an additional cost. Additional Seating $275 Regular Subscription — Includes cocktails, dinner, dancing, breakfast $225 Junior Subscription (under 35) — Includes cocktails, dinner, dancing, breakfast Additional seating for family and friends is encouraged and will be considered VIP. Please submit names and addresses of anyone you wish to receive an invitation to the Ball. Participating as a Member of the Young Men’s Committee The name of each member of the Young Men’s Committee will be listed on the invitation.* He will be featured on a half page in the program book with a color photo of himself along with a brief social biography. If a sponsor is submitted to cover their donation, the sponsor(s) will be recognized on his page. He will also have an opportunity to submit photos of any charity or volunteer work he has participated in for the program book volunteer page. He will be encouraged to participate in the Special Olympics Pennsylvania events offered throughout the year. *In order for young man’s name to be printed on the Ball invitation, RSVP must be received by September 18, 2016.

The Night of the Ball The Young Men’s Committee will be introduced to the Board of Directors, Debutantes and families and guests in attendance. The Young Men’s Committee will participate in the events presentation ceremony and dance with the Debutantes at the Commencement Waltz. Young Men must wear , and white gloves. The Board of Directors will provide boutonnières.

The Rehearsal There is a mandatory rehearsal planned prior to the event for all Debutantes, fathers or chosen presenter and Young Men’s Committee participants. Details to come.

The Special Olympics Event All participants are encouraged to attend an event hosted by this year’s beneficiary, The Special Olympics Pennsylvania. The Special Olympics Fall will be held at Villanova University November 4-6, 2016. Information will be given throughout the year. The PCB family attended this event last year and is planning to do so again this year with an even bigger group, so please mark your calendars.

The Entertainment Entertainment at The 2016 Philadelphia Charity Ball will be provided by The Lester Lanin Orchestra.
