YEAR OF REPORT: 2015-16

The following plan of action was chalked out by the IQAC for quality enhancement.

1) To conduct orientation programme to I and II semester students to acquaint them with the semester system as per Rani Channamma University Belagavi. (Started from 2005-06 on phased manner) and the curricular, co-curricular and extra- curricular activities of the college. 2) To conduct seminar group discussions, guest lectures and various competitions to enhance the depth of knowledge in various subjects. 3) To depute teachers to national and state level seminars, workshops, conferences to attend and present papers in their fields of interest. 4) To conduct remedial courses for slow learners. 5) To motivate students to participate in co-curricular activities like Elocution, Essay, Rangoli, competitions.

6) To facilitate overall personality development of the students through NCC, NSS, Sports, Literary activities, Study tours and adventure programmes. 7) Make special efforts to enhance the performance of students in University Athletic meets. 8) To Motivative more number of students of final year to join graduate finishing school Dharwad for employment opportunities and thereby helping the poor and deserving students. 9) To make Efforts to get more UGC grant for equipments for Computer lab, Gymkhana & Library. 10) „Students-Teachers Exchange Programme‟ with neighboring College is organized under MOU. 11) To conduct programmes to harness the hidden talents of students. 12) To undertake project works to give practical knowledge to the students. 13) To conduct extension activities in adopted village through NSS Special camp. 14) To continue MOU with neighboring college for exchange of students and teachers under students – Teachers exchange programme. 15) To arrange industry and Bank visits to students expose them to corporate culture.

01) ACTIVITIES REFLECTING THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTION:

Our college is situated in the rural border area of and Maharashtra. We strive hard to cater to the needs of our rural youth, weaker sections of the society and women students and provide quality higher education at affordable cost.

1) To encourage women students and students of the weaker section of the community to get higher education, admissions are given to all eligible students. Financial assistance and various scholarships are given to the needy and meritorious students. Married women are encouraged to continue their education. 2) Concession in fees given to students showing remarkable performance in sports, NCC or NSS. 3) Impetus is given to Spoken English Course. 4) Students are encouraged to join NCC and NSS units, concerned officers participated in special camps. The students were guided and inspired to organize functions themselves and motivated to participate in the intercollegiate extempore and essay competitions. They participated in University/State level NCC/NSS leadership training camp. 5) Government hostel facility is provided to the out station SC/ST boys students. 6) Women‟s Hostel facility is provided.

7) Human Rights, Spoken English Courses are conducted. 8) Certificate course in Jainology is continued. 9) Language lab is established.

02) NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES INITIATED - UG/PG

1. Ad-on courses like Karnataka University-MOU-Infosys Bangalore IAP Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in “soft skills” are started step by step. 2. Certificate course in Jainology is continued. 3. Spoken English Classes are conducted.

03) INNOVATIONS IN CURRICULAR DESIGN AND transaction:

1. Curriculum of all languages basic as well as optional subjects revised and new subjects importing social and living values are introduced. C) Dr. B. B. Kalatippi participated in workshop on curriculum designing and designed curriculum in their respective subjects.

04) INTER-DISCIPLINARY PROGRAMMES STARTED:

Inter-disciplinary programmes started as per semester system were helpful to career development.

OMR System is continued in the conduct of examination. Multiple choice question paper patterns have been introduced for following compulsory subjects:

A discussion was held on the topic “Anukaran Siddhant” on 24/12/2014 by the department of Kannada. 2. Department of Economics organized the 50th A. D. Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition on 16th October 2014. Dr. A. D. Kulkarni, Associate Prof, Dept of Economics, Women‟s College Chikodi, Shri. Narendrakumar S. Branch Manager, Bank of Baroda, Bedkihal and Shri D.C. Alugure, General Manager, Arihanth Sauharad Credit Co-operative Ltd, Borgaon were the judges on the occasion. Dr. B. B. Kalatippi, Principal presided over the function. Our college is grateful to A.D.Shrof f Memorial Trust Mumbai for instituting cash prize of Rs. 3000/- for this competition. Miss Priyanka P. Malage, B.A. III rd sem, and Miss Smita S. Desai, B.com V th sem, Miss. Afrin G. Jamadar, B.com I st sem, got First, Second & Third, Prize respectively. Miss Priyanka B. Kumbar, B.A. III rd and Miss. Dr. J. P. Sabannavar, H.O.D. of Economics Department presented ten papers and attended a workshop, and chaired the technical sessions in the following National/ State level Seminars / Conferences / workshops. Three articles are accepted for publication in ISBN/ ISSN publication.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE: 1. Our Computer lab is well equipped with Twenty Five Computers supported by Laser Jet Printer, Epson Color Printer and Broad Band Internet facility, with 16 high powered batteries for back up.

2. Networking facility is provided in the lab.

3. New lab is installed with 50 computers supported by 8 batteries and two UPS for back up.

4. Smart Board with Projector has been installed in new lab.

a) Parents meeting was held on 22nd February2015 in our college nearly Sixty parents attended the meeting and students problems have been discussed with the Principal, Local management committee and staff. A new parents committee was formed and elected governing body members. This parent‟s meet was looked after by Dr. J.P. Sabannavar, Shri. B.S. , Physical Director and Shri. R.D. Kamble. b) The grievances of the students were solved with the help of parents.

32) HEALTH SERVICES:

1) LES‟s Acharya Deshbhushan Ayurvedic Medical College, Bedkihal conducts Medical checkup of every student at the time of admission. 2) ADAM College, Bedkihal provides free medical service to our staff and students. 3) With the help of ADAM College, Bedkihal, we conduct health checkup, eye camp, blood donation and free distribution of medicines to the needy.

3) Our Women’s Kho-Kho Team players participated in Inter – University Vikaram Shimahapuri University Andhra Pradesh on 15th to 20th November, 2014 during this year and brought credit to our college.

5) Our Men’s Kho-Kho Team player participated in Inter –University J.N.T.U Kakinada University Andhra Pradesh on 24th to 28th December, 2014 during this year and brought credit to our college.

Patil, Chairman, LMC Committee Bedkihal -Shamanewadi & Ceremonial Parade was performed by NCC Cadets. Blood Donation Camp was organised under the direction of Rotary Health Club Inchalkaranji .  CHM Rohit S. Patil along with 1 SD cadets attended National Integration Camp held by Bellary Group at Gadag from 1st to 15th January, 2015.  15 SD/SW Cadets appeared for „B‟ certificate examination.

1) Our NSS Officer Asst. Prof. K. B. Chougule has attended one day NSS Programme in Rani Channamma University Belagavi. 2) On 5th August Blood Donation Camp was arranged with Co- operation of Primary Health Centre, Bedkihal 3) On 15th Aug. NSS unit arranged tree Plantation programme in college campus. 4) On the occasion of Mahatame Gadhi Birth anniversary N.S.S. Unit arranged „„Sawcha Bharat Abhiyan‟‟ in Bedkihal. 5) On 26th Jan. our NSS unit arranged Blood Donation Camp with Co-operation of Rotary Club . On the occasion Mahatma Gandhi‟s Biographical pictures were exhibited. 6) On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Birth Anniversary, NSS unit arranged competitions like Essay Writing, Blood Checking Camp and Photo Exhibition relating to Swami Vivekananda‟s Life and achievements. 7) Arranged “AIDS Awareness Programme” jointly with “Red Ribbon Club”.

Diwan Bahadur Annasaheb Latthe Jayanti was celebrated by performing photo pooja on 9th Dec. 2014. On 15th Dec. 2014 Sardar Vallabhhai Patel death anniversary was celebrated by photo pooja. Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi was celebrated on 12/1/1015. Photo pooja was performed by Dr. J. P. Sabannavar, HOD, Economics Dept. Prof. B.R. Tamadaddi spoke about the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the Centre of Gandhian Study. On this occasion Prof. A.C. Sagare gave a lecture on use of made in India products. The Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January 2015. The Chief Guest was Bahubali Kalashetti, Prop. Mahalakshmi Transport, Sangli. Adv. P.R. Patil, Chairman, LMC presided over the function. Photo exhibition of Gandhiji‟s biographical details were displayed. Blood donation was organisation by NSS with coordination with Rotary Club, Nipani. Our student Smitha Desai, B.Com VI sem. participated in a speech competition arranged by Chandrabhagatiri Charitable Trust, Jayashingpur. Our students Mr. Kadappa Magadum, Mr. Toufik , Ms. Chhakuli Mane, and Ms. Pooja Khot participated in a Quiz competition organised by KLE‟s B.K. College, Chikkodi. Our student Akshay Koganole, B.Com VI sem. participated in the spot painting competition of Chikodi Zonal Inter-Collegiate UNIFEST- 2015 organised by Swami Vivekanand BCA College, Nanadi and bagged 3rd prize. Pick and speak, Speech, Essay, Singing, General knowledge, Quiz competition and Rangoli competitions have been organised by Cultural Association of our collage from 20/03/2015 to 27/03/2015.

 Vidya Poshak, Dharwad provided guidance on “Career opportunities for Graduates” to B.A. and B.com 6th semester students, on 20th January 2015.  11 students of B.com VI semester have attended Pragati-14 a megha campus Placement drives on 14th March 2015.at IBMR Group of colleges, Hubli.  Dr. R.A. Rotti of Bhartesh Education Trust of Belgaum has delivered a lecturer on “Future opportunities for graduates”, on 7th March 2015.  Guranagouda N.K. of Deshpande foundation Hubli has provided One hour Orientation programme to build Employability Skills for B.com and B.A. VI semester Students held on 19March 2015.  More than 50 students of B.A. and B.com VI semester of our college will appear to an Entrance Examination on 5th April 2015.at 11.am at A.A. Patil Women‟s College, Chikodi. This examination will be conducting by Pragati Poshak Graduate Finishing School Dharwad.
