  • List of Directv Channels (United States)
List of DirecTV channels (United States) Below is a numerical representation of the current DirecTV national channel lineup in the United States. Some channels have both east and west feeds, airing the same programming with a three-hour delay on the latter feed, creating a backup for those who missed their shows. The three-hour delay also represents the time zone difference between Eastern (UTC -5/-4) and Pacific (UTC -8/-7). All channels are the East Coast feed if not specified. High definition Most high-definition (HDTV) and foreign-language channels may require a certain satellite dish or set-top box. Additionally, the same channel number is listed for both the standard-definition (SD) channel and the high-definition (HD) channel, such as 202 for both CNN and CNN HD. DirecTV HD receivers can tune to each channel separately. This is required since programming may be different on the SD and HD versions of the channels; while at times the programming may be simulcast with the same programming on both SD and HD channels. Part time regional sports networks and out of market sports packages will be listed as ###-1. Older MPEG-2 HD receivers will no longer receive the HD programming. Special channels In addition to the channels listed below, DirecTV occasionally uses temporary channels for various purposes, such as emergency updates (e.g. Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike information in September 2008, and Hurricane Irene in August 2011), and news of legislation that could affect subscribers. The News Mix channels (102 and 352) have special versions during special events such as the 2008 United States Presidential Election night coverage and during the Inauguration of Barack Obama.

  • Federal Communications Commission Estimates Are Valid. We Further Note
Federal Communications Commission estimates are valid. We further note that the calculated interference would occur principally at the edge ofWUAB-TV's service area and may be mitigated or reduced by factors such as cable carriage and improved receiving antennas. Notwithstanding these considerations. we have long recognized that providing all broadcasters with a new channel to implement DTV will result in some stations receiving new interference during the transition period. One ofthe principal efforts in developing the DTV Table has been to minimize the likelihood ofsuch new interference. Cannell's request that additional measures be taken to ensure against interference to NTSC service could only be satisfied by taking measures that we believe would significantly reduce the provision ofnew DTV service. We do not find that such measures are warranted or desirable. We believe that the existing rules provide sufficient protection to existing NTSC operations and that no further restrictions are needed. 470. CBS. Inc. Petition and Sugplemental Filing. ls3 CBS indicates that the operation of its Chicago. Illinois station WBBM-TV on DTV channel 3 with only 2.5 kW ERP, as allotted, will experience co-channel interference from existing NTSC channel 3 assignments in Champaign. Illinois. in Kalamazoo. Michigan. and in Madison. Wisconsin. CBS is concerned that the Grade B contour ofNTSC station on channel 4 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which is only 134 km (84 miles) from WBBM-TV. will overlap its station's DTV service contour. CBS believes that viewers in the overlap area may experience operational difficulties because both channels 3 and 4, the only available channel selections for tuners on most VCRs, will be in use for over-the-air broadcasting.

Comcast’s Digital Migration Comcast is moving to a full digital delivery system in California and throughout the U.S. Comcast’s objective is to migrate customers to digital, and enhance the quality of their services, at little or no additional cost to the customer. Our goal is to make this transition simple and customer friendly. With this initiative, Comcast is improving picture quality and will free up bandwidth space to give consumers over 100 new channels, more High Definition (HD) choices, and faster Internet service. FAQs Q. What is Comcast’s Digital Migration Project? The project involves transforming Comcast’s Limited Basic and Expanded Basic cable channels (very roughly channels 2 to 82) from an analog to a digital format to add more bandwidth and give consumers dozens of new channels, more High Definition (HD) content, faster Internet speeds and advanced services. To do this, all customers who currently have Limited Basic and Expanded Basic cable in their homes will need a Digital Transport Adapter (DTA), a small piece of equipment that plugs directly into the TV set. In addition, all Comcast customers, regardless of their service level, will need to have some type of a box on their individual TV sets (many already do). These boxes can be mailed or picked up and self-installed at home (a very easy process that many thousands of customers have already completed). Delivering channels via digital format is a more efficient use of the existing cable infrastructure. By re- allocating analog channels to exclusive digital delivery, Comcast is able to triple the space on its network to give customers more of what they want – more HD channels, international networks and On Demand, as well as much faster Internet service.
