A Personal Message from Randy, This past year has been one of frustration as we watched the Trudeau Liberals show Canada what they are all about - the party of “do as I say, not as I do.” Thanks to their out of control spending, a person turning 18 this year will not see a balanced budget until age 56. This is completely unacceptable. The actions of this Liberal government over this last year have shown that all of their election talk about listening to and helping the middle class was simp- ly empty campaign rhetoric. A Party that values the opinion of hard-working moms, dads, farmers, business owners and seniors would not find itself accused of holding cash-for- access fundraisers. There have been over 80 of these fundraisers held so far. They have advertised special access to cabinet ministers and to the Prime Minister in exchange for a hefty political donation for entrance. Chinese-Canadian billionaires willing to pay $1,500 to the Liberal Party were given personal access to the Prime Minister. As a show of gratitude, one of these billionaires donated $1 million to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation. Regular hard-working Canadians cannot afford this steep listening fee. Then there’s the Prime Minister’s family vacation over Christmas on the Aga Khan’s private island in the Bahamas – a vacation where Trudeau’s family was joined by the President of the Liberal Party of Canada. It is a fact that the Aga Khan’s foundation receives millions of dollars from the Canadian government each year for its projects around the world. The foundation is also listed as a registered lobbyist in Ottawa. Talk about a conflict of interest! As Conservatives, we must never give up. There has to be a loud voice of reason and common sense in this country, and we, as conservatives, are that voice. As we begin a New Year, I thank all of you for your continued support. The Conservative Party of Canada and the Conservative MP’s need the support of our members now more than ever. The political landscape is changing into an era of social media. Social media has become a powerful communication tool. Communicating our policies and track record to Canadians has always been a chal- lenge for the Conservative Party because of the filtered reporting of the Ottawa media. Social media now gives us an alternative, one that we can have more control over. So, I ask each of you to get involved in social media: Like and Share my Facebook postings Facebook.ca/MPRandyHoback; join me on Twitter @MPRandyHoback, and use the new website www.randyhoback.com that our riding association is sponsoring to donate and collect funds – funds which will deposit directly into our local association bank account.
