The parade was held Saturday morning, with quite a few floats and attendees present. The Demolition Derby and Tuff Trucks were crowd pleasers like always, with the stands packed full of spectators. And for the first time this year, the Cheyenne County Fair Board was able to have a beer garden during the band that played Thursday evening. The only caveat was that the band played at the bandshell in Sawhill Park, rather than at the fairground’s grandstands. While there was no carnival rides or games this year, the Amusement Authority has been busy working to make sure the county has rides and games during next year’s fair. They are working on the rides and equipment every Thursday, updating everything so that it will pass inspection. The members said they fully expect to have carnival rides and games at the 2021 Cheyenne County Fair. Demolition Derby The stands were full for the Demolition Derby, and the pits had a good number of people as well! After a good number of hits, and plenty of entertainment for the crowd, there were only two of the derby cars left. It didn’t take too long before the winner prevailed. JD Walthers was the big winner this year, taking first place after a good competition against the other drivers. JD took home $1,500 for his first place finish. David Rose took second place, taking home $1,000. Taking third and $750 was Keagan Sherlock. Also in the derby and taking fourth place with $500 was Jace Le, and the fifth place winner was David Stephens, DEMOLITION DERBY DRIVERS entertained the crowd this year as they crashed into each other.
