The Portage Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to present a one day “Safe Sitter Essentials” course that teaches middle-school aged kids the responsibilities of safely caring for young children. Safety skills, child development and behavior tips, rescue breathing and first aid will also be discussed. Upon passing the class, children may gain employment within their community with their certification and/or parents can feel more confident leaving an elder child to watch their younger siblings.
