Research Article, ISSN 2304-2613 (Print); ISSN 2305-8730 (Online); Prefix 10.18034 Exploring Pull Factors of Travel Motivation: An Exploratory Study in Sylhet Region Fathema Farjana Hani Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, North East University Bangladesh, Telihaor, Sheikhghat, Sylhet-3100, BANGLADESH *E-mail for correspondence: farjanahani@ gmail.com Received: Jan 12, 2016 Accepted: Feb 11, 2016 ABSTRACT Bangladesh has a massive potential to flourish its tourism sector. As it have spectacular resources to present. This study analyzes the importance level of motivational pull factors that affect tourists’ decision when they chose a destination for tourism. 100 questionnaires were completed using face-to-face and telephone interview to collect pre and post-visit information. Data have gathered from the tourists who visited from outside of Sylhet and also from greater Sylhet Division by structured questionnaires. The study demonstrates that highest importance level gained by the availability of public toilet in the tourist spot (mean value 4.64). Gradual importance is attained from the elements- easily reached and cleanliness of the destination, pleasant and safe accommodation, personal security, prices of different products, availability of hygiene food and beverages, availability of recreation facilities, reasonable rent of accommodation, and shopping facility After examining the post visit opinion found some elements are treated the negative e.g. price of various products (food, drink, handicrafts, etc.), availability of public toilet, availability of different recreation facility (Water Park, sports facility, night life, etc.), and shopping facility. This study has an extensive implication for further research in tourism. Keywords: Tourism, Pull factors, Importance level, Negative elements, Sylhet Division JEL Classification Code: L83 INTRODUCTION waterfalls, hills and mountains, parks, hotels and resorts, tea gardens.

  • Selected Team List (Public)
This Document provides the selected team list for ICPC Dhaka Regional 2020. THIS IS A TENTATIVE LIST. Currently, the hosts plan to accommodate all these teams in the contest. If, due to the demand of the extreme situation, the capacity is revised, then an updated list will be published. This year is extraordinary, and we appreciate your patience and support in organizing this event. The document includes: 1. Report on the mistake of problem C 2. Report on the plagiarism charges 3. Updated rank-list 4. Selected team list Mistake on Problem C of ICPC Dhaka Regional 2020 Online Preliminary Contest A mistake was found in the judge data of Problem C (Almost a Palindrome) after the contest was over. Unfortunately, the mistake potentially harmed teams who approached it in the correct way. Thus, teams might have had a better rank than the one they achieved during the contest. The Issue The core algorithm to solve the problem was correct in the setter’s, tester’s and two alternate writers’ solutions. But they all missed a corner case. The problem requires the smallest index in case of multiple possible answers and in this case, judges’ solution may produce an index which is not the smallest. Handling this corner case requires a little addition after finding the answer with the core algorithm. Without handling this case, for some input the judges’ output was flawed. So, this mistake doesn’t affect the efficiency of the judges’ solution rather the correctness in this case. The Resolve from Judges Judges did the following steps to resolve the issue.

  • Director's Report on ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Dhaka Site Event Online
Director’s Report on ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Dhaka Site Event Online Contest 2014 Introduction The ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Dhaka Site online Programming Contest 2014 was conducted by Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), for the first time. Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was established in the year 2003 under the Private University Act with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Govt. of Bangladesh. BUBT was founded by Dhaka Commerce College, Mirpur, Dhaka and is managed by a Board of Trustees and a Syndicate in which the Principal of the College and the Chairman of the Governing Body of Dhaka Commerce College are Ex-officio members. Thus BUBT and Dhaka Commerce College are the two sister educational institutions working together closely for providing quality education in Bangladesh. The popularity of programming contests in Bangladesh has been growing in recent years. This is one of the arenas where Bangladeshi students have been consistently outperforming in international assessment. Excelling in such events requires analytical prowess, deductive capabilities and the ability to think on one’s feet. The budding programmers from this country have risen to the challenge admirably. Participating in such competitions has enriched computer science departments of various universities, and has widened the mental horizon of the participating students. Bangladesh has a bright prospect in this field which cannot be disputed. From this point of view the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) is going to organize ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Dhaka Site Event 2014 on December 05-06, 2014 at BUBT Permanent Campus.
