Corporation Other Initiatives 22) Waterways 1) Land Transport Authority will be putting up water Watch Society conservation posters at 70 of its construction sites. On 5 March 2016, about 200 representatives from its 47 construction companies will attend the launch of the poster at the opening. To show their commitment, they will also join a walk in support of the water cause.

2) ITE College Central and have developed an Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) Learning Trail at Kallang River@Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park for pre-schoolers teaching them the importance of keeping our waters clean. Ricoh sponsors the printing of its booklets.

3) Students from the Green Club and St. John Brigade of Anderson Secondary School have constructed a “Wash on a Full Load” art installation using the recycle washing machine boxes. The art installation will house 2,000 pieces of collected clothes from 19 neighbouring HDB blocks around the circumference of the school compound. Throughout this installation, students intend to educate the public on one of the good water saving habits, which is to wash on a full load.

4 Green Corridor Run 2016 6 March Contact 2016 Lim Siew Wee/PUB Guest-of-Honour: Minister for the Environment and (97300823) Water Resources, Mr MASAGOS Zulkifli Barbara Lim/PUB (98177214) In conjunction with Singapore World Water Day, Groundswell is organising the Green Corridor Run (GCR) Organisation involved on 6 March 2016 to raise awareness on the value of water. 1) Groundswell

For those not participating in the run, they can choose to walk the 10km trail. By carrying a recycled bucket/jerry can of water with them, they can better appreciate the clean water woes faced by the people in developing countries as they need to walk 6km on an average for clean water.

3) For every litre of water carried to the end point, a dollar will be donated to Charity: Water, a non-profit organisation that helps to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations through sustainable water projects.

4) About 3,000 students will join ITE’s recycling effort to give new life to old banners from the past World Water Day events. More than 2,000 pouches will be distributed to participants of the Green Corridor Run.

About 1,000 residents will join in this walk while doing

clean-up along the way. At the event, Geylang Serai Organisations Involved residents groups will be competing in a Water 1) Geylang Serai Conservation Lamp Post Banners Painting Competition. Constituency Top 3 winning teams will be receiving prizes sponsored by The Tuckshop and hampers from PUB, the national water 2) The Tuckshop agency.

Between 14 February and 7 March 2016, the community can show their support by participating in the Save Water Innovative Ideas Competition to encourage residents to share innovative ideas to conserve water. Top 3 winners stand to win attractive prizes sponsored by The Tuckshop, a communal social space to eat and socialise, located at 403 Guillemard Road.

In addition, for the month of March, The Tuckshop and The Recess will be promoting water awareness at their premises to patrons.

16 Kao Singapore Supports Water Conservation Contact Lim Siew Wee/PUB To support water conservation, Kao is displaying wobblers (97300823) on their product shelves at NTUC Fairprice, Cold Storage Barbara Lim/PUB and petrol stations (about 100 display pointss), from the (98177214) last week of February till 12 April 2016. Only for FairPrice stores, they will be partnering with Mercy Relief to donate Organisation Involved 30 cents to Mercy Relief for every bottle of Attack Quick Kao Singapore Clean sold. Donations will help to fund safe water and sanitation projects in Asia.
