It is known experientially through the senses— through smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing, and manifests in a variety of blended and traversed, or, we might say, translational cultural forms. One of these blendings / traversings / translations—of poetry, music and song into late-Victorian decadent song literature—is the subject of this article.
