Partners in Development (PID) is a Engineering firm was established in 2010 to provide Engineering services in key disciplines of Environment, Civil & Electrical Engineering. PID is established by professionals having vast national and international experience in the field of Engineering and Finance. The staff of PID have worked in various organizations for number of years and have gained necessary experience to deal with the real world problems and come up with solutions to complicated problems that most of the big organizations are facing today while dealing with the construction projects. The purpose of forming PID is to provide one window operation to clients dealing with various aspects of Engineering projects i.e. Planning, Design, Bidding/Tendering, Construction Management, Financial Management, Physical and Financial progress monitoring and ensuring that Quality Check/ Quality Assurance (QC/QA) procedures are enforced.

PID's head office is located in Peshawar and a branch office located in . Mr. Shahid Zaman Khan is the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Khan is a Civil Engineer with Masters in Construction Engineering and Management from California State University Long Beach, USA. He has more than 22 years international and local experience as a consultant professional and has a privilege of working in Pakistan top companies but also America's top construction Management company “CH2MHILL” and has managed projects worth billions of dollars.

PID employs a staff of professionals (both full time and part time) including the engineers, economists, planners, construction managers, HRD trainers and financial analysts. PID specialists' team deals with projects from problem definition to the implementation of effective solutions, followed by close monitoring and evaluation to maximize project benefits. To supplement in-house staff resources, PID maintain a computerized professional registry of over 50 highly qualified professionals in multiple disciplines. This registry is updated on a continuous basis, which allows the firm to engage staff for technical positions from associated fields for short and long term assignments. PID's professionals have diversified and vast experience in a variety of fields including Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Preparation, Project Management, Community Development, Environmental, Planning and Training. PID's combined resources complimented by a group of professionals have gained an excellent reputation for providing Engineering services all over the country and abroad. For each project, PID assembles a project team with the appropriate skills to ensure satisfactory achievement of the project objectives. A principal member of staff is nominated as Project Coordinator and his responsibilities during the assignment are typically as follows:

 Communication and Coordination with the Client

 Organization and Co-ordination of the Work within the Company

 Identification and Reappraisal of Objectives throughout the Project

 Control of the Work Schedule and the Project Budget

 Quality Assurance on the Project

Overall the Project Coordinator is responsible for assuring that the work of the Project Team is maintained to a high standard and to the satisfaction of the Client and of PID's management. Communication between the Project Team and the Client are usually at both formal and working level. This close cooperation and working contact is regarded by PID as being essential for mutual satisfaction of all parties and for the success of the work.

Consistent with a commitment to quality, PID operate within a Quality Assurance regime designed to meet the requirements for the development projects in all sectors. It is company policy to apply an effective Quality Assurance Plan to all projects. For each project the company appoints a QA Coordinator to ensure that the correct procedures are followed and to guarantee that the project work is being performed in accordance with the QA Plan drawn up for the project.

This QA Plan is normally prepared at the beginning of a project and set down the procedures for the project including:

 Identification of the Personnel who will be Working on the Project  Lines of Communication within the Company and with the Client  Time schedule for completing the Work

It is company policy to apply an effective Quality Assurance System to all projects and to implement the system in the most practical, economic and reliable manner consistent with Client needs. The Quality Assurance System provides the basis for executing, checking and progressing the work. The final report, conclusions and recommendations are thoroughly checked by suitably qualified persons and formally approved by the competent professional of the firm prior to submission to the Client..

The study was conducted by Asian Development Bank to estimate the amount of damage in war affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Various sectors including transportation, energy, infrastructure, education, health and administration were studied under this study. Amount of damage was estimated and appropriate amount of needed funding for rehabilitation of various sectors was estimated and presented to various Govt quarters.

M/s Partners in Development conducted the Post Conflict Need Assessment Study for the Transportation sector of the project area. Existing condition of the transportation section was surveyed and amount of damaged was noted. Needed funding for restoration of the transportation sector was estimated based on the prevailing rates and expected increment in the future prices. The findings were presented in the report for possible funding by the donor agencies.

Alternative Energy Development Board was the client of the project while it was implemented through Ministry of Environment, Govt of Sind. M/s Partners in Development’s professionals were contracted for environmental monitoring, waste sampling and it’s suitability for power generation, project coordination with various utility companies and client. M/s PID’s professionals conducted the EIA study for the project and was also responsible for waste sampling and testing.

The existing road from Danyore to Jalalabad having overall width of 22 ft provides communication facility needs an alternate link with KKH as the existing road has no capacity to overcome the increase traffic load due to which number of road accidents have been occurred and precious lives lost during the incidents. After construction of this bridge about 10 to 12 kilometers distance will be reduced in between Muhammadabad and Minawar.
