THE PROPHET LIKE UNTO

There are many scriptures which have been brought to us that speak of this prophet in the last days who will be "like unto" Moses. The following scriptures are given to show that the Lord has given us many witnesses explaining who the prophet "like unto" Moses will be. The word of the Lord is established or is proven by two or three witnesses.

Jesus stated: "It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true." John 8:17 "But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.” Matthew 18:16

Paul stated: "This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." 2 Corinthians 13:1 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." I Thessalonians 5:21

Nephi stated: "Wherefore, by the words of three, God hath said, I will establish my word. Nevertheless, God sendeth more witnesses; and he proveth all his words. Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ: For, for this end hath the law of Moses been given: And all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.” 2 Nephi 8:5-9

As stated above "all things...are the typifying of him." Jr. was a type and shadow of the future "choice seer." In the following scriptures, enough evidence is given from the prophets to inform us who the one "like unto" Moses will be in the last days.

On September 21, 1823, a heavenly messenger quoted several scriptures from the Bible while appearing to Joseph Smith Jr. These scriptures were quoted four times to him. One of these scriptures is a quote from Peter:

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Christ, which before was preached unto you, whom ye have crucified; Whom the heavens must receive until the times of restitution of all things which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, Like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that Prophet shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.” Acts 3:19-24

From the above scripture we find that:

1. There will come a period of time called: "times of refreshing" and "times of restitution of all things" Refreshing means, "to revive or renew." Restitution means, "to restore to the rightful owner something taken away, lost, or surrendered." 2

2. During this time of refreshing and restitution the Lord: "shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you, whom ye have crucified;" We find that Peter is telling us of a future coming of the Lord. "The heavens must receive (the Lord) until the times of restitution of all things." We also find that the "times of restitution of all things" is that "which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.''

3. Peter then quotes Moses and speaks of this future prophet: "A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people." In this scripture we have been told that if we do riot "hear" or listen to this prophet when he comes, we will "be destroyed."

4. Finally Peter stated: "Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days." We find that all the prophets from Samuel spoke of the "times of the restitution of all things.” Why does the Lord specifically refer to Samuel? The name "Samuel" in Hebrew means "Heard of God." Samuel heard the Lord speak and answered: "Speak; for thy servant heareth.” 1 Samuel 3:1-10 This implies that we too must hear the Lord when he speaks.

After the heavenly messenger quoted the above scripture, he then told Joseph: “...that prophet was Christ, but the day had not yet come when they who would not hear his voice should be cut off from among the people, but soon would come." The History of ,the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Volume 1, page 13.

From the above statement we learn that this is yet to be fulfilled and that this prophet "like unto" Moses, will be the Lord. The original quote from Moses as quoted by Peter is as follows:

"The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;... I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto Lny words which he shall speak in my name, I will reggire it of him.” Deut. 18:15, 18-19

Nephi also quoted the prophecy of Moses and declared, "This prophet of whom Moses spoke, was the Holy One of Israel:"

"And the Lord will surely prepare a way for his people, unto the fulfilling of the words of Moses, which he spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that all those who will not hear that prophet, shall be cut off from among the people. And now I, Nephi, declare unto you, that this prophet of whom Moses spake, was the Holy One of Israel; Wherefore, he shall execute judgment in righteousness; And the righteous need not fear, for they are those who shall not be confounded. But it is the kingdom of the devil which shall be built up among the children of men, which kingdom is established among 3 them which are in the flesh: For the time speedily shall come, that all churches which are built up to get gain, and all those who are built up to get power over the flesh, and those who are built up to become popular in the eyes of the world, and those who seek the lusts of the flesh and the things of the world, and to do all manner of iniquity; Yea, in fine, all those who belong to the kingdom of the devil, are they who need fear, and tremble, and quake; They are those who must be brought low in the dust; They are those who must be consumed as stubble: And this is according to the words of the prophet. And the time cometh speedily, that the righteous must be led up as calves of the stall, and the Holy One of Israel must reign in dominion, and might, and power, and great glory." 1 Nephi 7:43-55 (See also 3 Ne. 11:22-24 & Mal.4:1-3)

Frcm the scripture above we learn that "the Lord will surely prepare a way for his people.” Who is the "way"? Jesus stated: "I am the way, the truth, and the life" John 14:6

The "way" is the Lord himself. Also from the above words of Nephi we learn that when the Lord comes as the prophet "like unto" Moses that "he shall execute judgment in righteousness." This second coming will be a time of "judgment" to those who will not receive him or listen to his words. Joseph Smith Jr. prophesied of a future time when those who will not hear this prophet will "be cut off from among the people:"

"and the day cometh that they who will not hear the voice of the Lord, neither the voice of his servants, neither give heed to the words of the prophets and apostles, shall be cut off from among the people;" Doc. & Cov. 1:3c

"And upon them that hearken not to the voice of the Lord, shall be fulfilled that which was written by the prophet Moses, that they should be cut off from among the people." Doc. & Cov. 108:lle

While speaking of the four different types of priesthood in the last days, the Lord ends by telling the final outcome of the "evil servant." Please notice that the prophecy of Moses is mentioned. This one group of priesthood will "be cut off from among the people.” The reason is because that they will not accept or listen to the Lord when he comes as the one "like unto" Moses.

"But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to smite his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; the Lord of the servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him asunder, and shall appoint him his portion with the hypocrites; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And thus cometh the end of the wicked according to the prophecy of Moses, saying, They should be cut off from among the people. But the end of the earth is not yet; but bye and bye.” Matthew 24:55-56

The Lord spoke to the people on this continent after his resurrection, and he spoke of himself as being the prophet like unto Moses who was yet to come:

"And behold, this people will I establish in this land, unto the fulfilling of the covenant which I made with your father Jacob; and it shall be a new Jerusalem. And the powers of heaven shall 4

be in the midst of this people; yea, even I will be in the midst of you. Behold, I am he of whom Moses spake, saying, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me, him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people. Verily, I say unto you, Yea; and all the prophets from Samuel, and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have testified of me. And behold ye are the children of the prophets; and ye are of the house of Israel; and ye are of the covenant which the Father made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed, shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed;" 3 Nephi 9:58-63

From the above scripture we learn that the Lord declares that "he" is that prophet like unto Moses, and he is speaking of a future event. Moses, Peter, Nephi, the heavenly messenger sent to Josephi Smith Jr., Joseph Smith Jr. and Jesus all speak of the same thing. Because "all those who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people." When Christ came the first time there were many who did not hear him, yet they were not "cut off from among the people." The Lord's coming as this "prophet" is yet to occur. Jesus continued in the following scripture by describing himself as this servant who was "marred more than any man":

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, that my people shall know my name; yea, in that day they shall know that I am he that doth speak. And then shall they say, How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings unto them, that publisheth peace: that bringeth good tidings unto them of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto , Thy God reigneth! And then shall a cry go forth, Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch not that which is unclean; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel shall be your rearward. Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonished at thee; (his visage was so Marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men, ) So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. (See also Isaiah 52:12-15) Verily, verily, I say unto you, All these things shall surely come, even as the Father hath commanded me." 3 Nephi 9:77-84

In Hebrew, "marred" can refer to "disfigurement." Isaiah described the Lord's appearance: “...he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." Isaiah 53:2

In Greek, "man" can refer to a "husband," or it can mean "after the manner of men." Jesus came to earth "after the manner of men," and Jesus has also been described as the "husband" of his church. In Hebrew, "man" can mean "a servant" and many times Jesus is described as a "servant." Jesus again repeats the statement of the prophecy of Moses and how the people will be "cut off" when they fail to hear him:

"And when these things come to pass, that thy seed shall begin to know these things, it shall be a sign unto them, that they may know that the work of the Father hath already commenced unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the people who are of the house of 5

Israel. And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass that kings shall shut their mouths; for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. For in that day, for my sake shall the Father work a work, which shall be a great and a marvelous work among them; and there shall be among them who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them. But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will shew unto them that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil. Therefore it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus Christ, whom the Father shall cause him to bring forth unto the Gentiles, and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles, (it shall be done even as Moses said,) they shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant; And my people who are a remnant of Jacob, shall be among the Gentiles, yea, in the midst of them, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. Their hand shall be lifted up upon their adversaries, and all their enemies shall be cut off." 3 Nephi 9:93-100

Paul prophesied of the "work" of God which is to be declared by "a man:" "Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you." Acts 13:41

The Lord spoke through Joseph Smith Jr. concerning the "man...like as Moses" who will bring about "the redemption of Zion.” "Behold, I say unto you, The redemption of Zion must needs come by power; therefore I will raise up unto my people a man, who shall lead them like as Moses led the children of Israel, for ye are the children of Israel, and of the seed of Abraham; and ye must needs be led out of bondage by power, and with a stretched out arm; and as your fathers were led at the first, even so shall the redemption of Zion be.”Doc. & Cov. 100:3d-e

If the "man... like as Moses" will redeem Zion, then who have we already established as the one being "like unto" Moses? It is the Lord. Isaiah stated: "the Lord shall bring again Zion." Isa. 52:8 From the previous scriptures, is there any doubt that the redemption of Zion will be brought about by anyone other than our Lord. The previous scriptures have proven without any shadow of doubt that the Lord will be the prophet "like as Moses." While speaking of the prophet Moses and his spokesman (), it is also stated that "it shall be done ... in the last days also:"

"And it shall be done unto thee in the last days also, even as I have sworn. Therefore, Joseph said unto his brethren, God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land, unto the land which he sware unto Abraham, and unto Isaac, and to Jacob." Genesis 50:36

The scripture quoted above informs us that there will be a prophet like Moses in the last days who will also have a spokesman, even as Aaron was Moses' spokesman. The question may be raised as to why the Lord would need a spokesman. The reason is not spelled out in the scriptures, but we know that God is a God of patterns. It fits the pattern, and it fulfills the scripture that was given. Remember the words of Nephi:

6

"And all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him." 2 Nephi 8:9

All the previous scriptures speak of the Lord coming as the “prophet...like unto" Moses. The Lord would be made "manifest" unto the seed of Lehi in the latter days. In Hebrew the word "manifest" is defined as:

"to clarify, examine, select: make bright, choice, chosen, cleanse, clearly, polished, (shew self) pure(-ify), purge (out)."

We find from the above Hebrew definition of "manifest" that one of the definitions is "choice." This is another way of describing the "choice seer" who will be "like unto" Moses. He is the Messiah who will be "made manifest unto them in the latter days."

The Lord promised Joseph, son of Jacob: "And not to the bringing forth of my word only, saith the Lord, but to the convincing them of my word, which shall have already gone forth among them." 2 Nephi 2:18 & Genesis 50:30

This "choice seer" will be convincing the seed of Lehi of the truth of the gospel. This is consistent with the prophecy of Joseph Smith Jr. who had already translated the Book Of Mormon ("which had already gone forth among them") when he stated:

“... the word may go forth unto the ends of the earth, unto the Gentiles first, and then, behold, and lo, they shall turn unto the Jews; and then cometh the day when the arm of the Lord shall be revealed in power in convincing the nations, the heathen nations, the house of Joseph, of the gospel of their salvation." Doc. & Cov. 87:3c-d

In the above scripture Joseph Smith Jr. is prophesying of this future time when the "heathen nations, the house of Joseph" will be convinced of the truthfulness of the gospel. Joseph is not speaking of himself convincing anyone, but rather that "the arm of the Lord" or the "choice seer" will convince them. When he comes in these last days we will have an opportunity to hear him, but if we do not hear him we will "be cut off from among the people."

The

Isaiah spoke of the Lord as a "mighty man" in the last days, and then in the same passage speaks of him as "my servant ... a messenger." This ties the "mighty man" with the "servant" and the "messenger," all of which speak of the same individual, even our Lord:

"The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war; he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself; now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once. I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake 7 them. They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods. Hear, ye deaf, and look, ye blind, that ye may see. For I will send my servant unto you who are blind; yea, a Messenger to open the eyes of the blind, and unstop the ears of the deaf; And they shall be made perfect notwithstanding their blindness, if they will hearken unto the messenger, the Lord’s servant.” Isaiah 42:13-20

Some have said that Isaiah's words have all been fulfilled, but Jesus told us to study Isaiah "for that which hath been shall be” 3 Nephi 10:29. This means that the words of Isaiah are repeated. Isaiah again described the Lord as "a mighty and strong one:"

"Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and a strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.” Isaiah 28:2

After the Lord had been crucified and had risen from the dead, he walked with two men who were traveling to Emmaus and was described as a mighty prophet:

"But their eyes were holden, or covered, that they could not know him. ... And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;" Luke 24:15, 18

In Lehi's blessing to his son, Joseph, he of the "choice seer" being raised up and describes him as "one mighty... to work mighty wonders, and do that thing which is great in the sight of God." (2 Nephi 2:46-47)

Nephi informs us that the Lord is the "mighty one of Israel:" "And they shall know that the Lord is their Savior and their Redeemer, the mighty one of Israel." I Nephi 7:25

On Tuesday, November 27, 1832 Joseph Smith Jr. wrote to W. W. Phelps. A portion of which is as follows:

"yea, thus saith the still small voice, which whispereth through and pierceth all things, and oftentimes it maketh my bones to quake while it maketh manifest, saying:

'And it shall come to pass that I the Lord God will send one mighty and strong, holding the sceptre of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words, while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in order the house of God, and to arrange by lot the inheritances of the saints whose names are found, and the names of their fathers, and of their children, enrolled in the book of the law of God; while that man, who was called of God and appointed, that putteth forth his hand to steady the ark of God, shall fall by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning; and all they who are not found written in the book of remembrance, shall find none inheritance in that day, but they shall be cut asunder and their portion shall be appointed them among unbelievers, where is wailing and gnashing of teeth.' 8

These things I say not of myself, therefore as the Lord speaketh he will also fulfill." Times and Seasons, Vol. 5, pp 673-674; RLDS Church History, Vol. 1, p 260.

Joseph's prophecy as recorded above speaks of "one mighty and strong holding the sceptre of power in his hand." We find this "sceptre of power" also referred to in Genesis, and this is referring to Shiloh:

"Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise ... The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be." Genesis 49:8-10

Who will the people gather to? We find in the following scripture that Shiloh is: "...the Messiah who is called Shilo” Genesis 50:24 When we refer back to the prophecy of Joseph Smith Jr. concerning the one "mighty and strong," we find that the Lord is the one who is referred to as being "mighty and strong," and he will come to set in order the house of God."

Malachi prophecies of the Lord as a "messenger" coming to prepare the way for his coming in glory: "Behold, I will send my messenger, (2nd coming-P.E.) and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, (3rd coming-P.E.) even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in; behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts." Malachi 3:1

In the scripture just quoted there will be those who will not believe that the Lord speaks of himself as being "the messenger." The following scripture is given to show how the Lord explains a mystery in regard to his own testimony of himself:

"Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me." John 8:14,18

The Lord does "bear witness of" himself. He spoke of himself being sent as "the messenger." Jesus spoke of himself being the prphet like unto Moses and then stated:

"Verily, I say unto you, Yea; and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have testified of me. And behold ye are the children of the prophets; and ye are of the house of Israel; and ye are of the covenant which the Father made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed, shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed." 3 Nephi 9:62-63

If then, all the prophets from Samuel have spoken of Christ, consider all the types and shadows, analogies, allegories, anil references of our Lord. Also consider all the names that are used to describe the Lord's identity.

The Stone Of Stumbling

Nephi gives the Gentiles of today a word of counsel. They should hearken unto" the Lord in the day that he manifests himself unto them, and that they should "harden not their hearts against" him. He also calls for us to take away our "stumbling-blocks."

"And it shall come to pass, that if the Gentiles shall hearken unto the Lamb of God in that day that he shall manifest himself unto them in word, and also in power, in very deed, unto the taking away of their stumbling-blocks, and harden not their hearts against the Lamb of God, they shall be numbered among the seed of thy father;" 1 Nephi 3:201

To be numbered among the seed of Lehi not only requires baptism into his church but also to accept and hear the Lord when he comes. Those who are not watching for the Lord at his second coming will be unaware that it is our Lord who has come among us. The wording of the above scripture seems to tell us that there will be those among the Gentiles who will not hearken unto the Lord when he manifests himself in power. There will be those who apparently harden their hearts and their belief will be a "stumbling-block" against accepting the Lord and his gospel. The opposite is also true in that if we do not harden our hearts we "shall be numbered among the seed of (Lehi)."

Christ was "a stone of stumbling" to the house of Judah during the Lord's first coming when the Jews refused to accept him. He will also be "a stone of stumbling" unto Ephraim (Israel) in the last days when the people in today's world will not accept him:

"And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel., for a gin and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." 2 Nephi 9:52

Jacob prophesied of the Jews stumbling and rejecting Christ:

"And now I, Jacob, am led on by the Spirit unto prophesying: for I perceive by the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that by the stumbling of the Jews, they will reject the stone upon which they might build, and have safe foundation.”Jacob 3:26

Jesus spoke of himself as the "stone," and how he would be rejected. He also stated that there will come a time when he will "grind ... to powder" those who refuse to accept him. This will be those who are "cut off from among the people.,'

"Verily, I say unto you, I am the stone, and those wicked ones reject me. I am the head of the corner. These Jews shall fall upon me, and shall be broken. (First coming-P.E.) And the kingdom of God shall be taken from them, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof; (meaning the Gentiles.) Wherefore, on whomsoever this stone shall fall, it shall grind him to powder. (Second coming-P.E.) 10

And when the Lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, he will destroy those miserable, wicked men, and will let again his vineyard unto other husbandman, even in the last days, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons." Matthew 21:51-55

The Lord is described as the "stone of Israel" who had previously been rejected by the house of Judah. During his second coming the Lord will be the one who will build up Zion. He is the "cornerstone whom the builders rejected.”

"Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste." Isaiah 28:16

Peter quotes Isaiah while speaking of our Lord as the one who will be "a stone of stumbling:"

"Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious; and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore who believe, he is precious; but unto them who are disobedient, who stumble at the word, through disobedience, whereunto they were appointed, a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense. For the stone which the builders disallowed, is become the head of the corner.” 1 Peter 2:6-8

Nephi saw a great stumbling block for the Gentiles:

"And the Gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and have stumbled, because of the greatness of their stumbling block, that they have built up many churches;" 2 Nephi 11:90

Because men have tampered with the scriptures many people shall stumble. Nephi stated:

"Because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceeding great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them;" 1 Nephi 3:175

"And after the Gentiles do stumble exceedingly because of the most plain and precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb which has been kept back, by that abominable church, which is the mother of harlots, saith the Lamb, I will be merciful unto the Gentiles in that day, insomuch that I will bring forth unto them in mine own power, much of my gospel, which shall be plain and precious, saith the Lamb;" 1 Nephi 3:183

As strange as it may seem, the main reason people stumble is because we "desired it." It is much easier to stumble than it is to search and dig out the mysteries of the kingdom. "And because they desired it, God hath done it, that they may stumble." Jacob 3:25

Conclusion

The Lord will come and fulfill his promises whether or not we believe it. He will do a "strange work" in these last days. I look forward to it. There are many types and shadows of our Lord. Please remember the words of Nephi:

"And all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.” 2 Nephi 8:9

It is important to realize "that all those who will not hear that prophet, shall be cut off from among the people."
