8 July 2014 中華電力有限公司 23 December 2014 CLP Power Hong Kong Limited CLP extends free charging for electric vehicles CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) has been promoting green motoring in Hong Kong through the development of an electric vehicle charging network. CLP Power today (23 December) announces it will extend free charging for electric vehicles at all 146 charging points at its 39 charging stations until the end of 2015 to continue the promotion of green driving. As well as extending the free charging service, CLP Power has teamed up with the Hong Kong Housing Authority to launch the city’s first Dual-Standard Electric Vehicle Quick Charger at the Kai Tak Development Area (KTD). CLP Power Chief Operating Officer Mr Chow Tang Fai officiated at the launch ceremony for the charger, laying down a new milestone in the promotion of green motoring in Hong Kong. The charger, located in the Tak Long Estate car park in the KTD, supports both the existing Japanese quick charging standard (CHAdeMO) and the latest European quick charging standard (Combined Charging System or CCS) and enables compatible electric vehicles to be charged up to 80% within 30 minutes. Looking ahead, CLP Power plans to extend its quick charging network next year with multi- standards quick chargers to improve coverage and convenience for electric vehicle users. Since 2009, CLP Power has pioneered the introduction of a charging network across the city to allow electric vehicles to be more widely used. Drivers can now charge their electric vehicles at 32 standard and semi-quick charging stations, with 139 charging points covering every major district in Kowloon, the New Territories and Lantau Island. In addition, there are 7 charging points at 7 CLP Power quick charging stations at the Tak Long Estate, the CLP Power Centenary Building in Jordan, Hong Kong Science Park, the Choi Yuen Plaza, the Shui Pin Wai Estate, the Yau Lai Shopping Centre and Hong Kong International Airport.     中華電力有限公司 24 November 2016 CLP Power Hong Kong Limited CLP Power Extends Electric Vehicle Charging Network as Popularity of Green Motoring Accelerates CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) today (24 November) announced it will extend free charging for Electric Vehicles (EVs) at its network of 45 charging stations until the end of 2017. This is an effort to support the Government’s mission to make Hong Kong a greener, smarter city. CLP Power has extended its network of multi-standard quick charging stations, making them available in districts across the city to improve coverage and convenience for EV users. Quick charging stations are now available at driving intervals averaging 10 km throughout Kowloon and the New Territories, which is a notable milestone in our journey to encourage green motoring. Over the next two years, EV drivers will be better served as CLP Power adds 13 more multi- standard quick chargers to its network of stations. The new chargers are suitable for most EVs in Hong Kong and support multi-standard quick charging including the Japanese quick charging standard (CHAdeMO) and the two European quick charging standards (CCS and IEC Type 2 AC 3 Phase). Depending on the vehicle type, the chargers enable compatible EVs to be charged up to 80% battery capacity within 30 minutes, providing enough power for a journey of approximately 100 km. To cater to the expanding EV market, the Government has also approved CLP Power to upgrade all its existing standard chargers to the semi-quick standard which facilitates improved, faster charging. CLP Power has pioneered the introduction of charging stations across its power supply network since 2009.
